Fred Baron: Son Andrew Baron Pleads with Drug Company to Save his Father’s Life

DBKP has discovered that Andrew Baron, the son of John Edwards’ former national campaign Finance Chairman and former cofounder of the firm, Baron and Budd, has been pleading with the drug company Biogen to help save his father Fred’s life. According to Andrew, his father is at death’s door at the Mayo Clinic suffering from terminal cancer.

Andrew, the founder of the website, Rocketboom, has written an “open” letter to Biogen, the makers of the multiple sclerosis drug, Tysabri. Andrew wrote that his father suffers from multiple myeloma and that doctors have predicted Baron has only a few days left to live.
DBKP wrote about Baron, John Edwards’ former national campaign finance chairman who was instrumental in backing both of Edwards’ bids for President in 2004 and 2008. Baron admitted in August that he was personally supporting Edwards’ mistress, Rielle Hunter and her love child. Baron also admitted that he had sent Hunter and Edwards’ former right hand man, Andrew Young, hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to relocate a very pregnant Hunter, along with Young and his wife and children, to California back in December at a time when Edwards was still officially running for President.
The news that Fred Baron has been battling terminal cancer and has only a few days left to live comes as shock, the MSM hasn’t yet reported this story. Andrew writes that the drug, Tysabri, which is prescribed for MS, was “found” by one of Fred Baron’s “doctors” as a possible cure in Baron’s cancer.
Techcrunch writes that the head of the FDA, Andrew von Eschenbach, pressured by Lance Armstrong and Senator Ted Kennedy, okayed the use of the drug by Baron’s doctors but the head of Biogen, James C. Mullen, disagreed.
Baron’s former firm, Baron and Budd raked in hundreds of millions of dollars in asbestos related lawsuits since 1975. Baron has been active in politics since the 1990′s, funneling millions of dollars of campaign contributions to candidates such as Edwards and the DNC.
