Drudge: Zogby Poll Has McCain Taking Lead, Now Up by One -UPDATED
McCain Takes Lead in Zogby Poll
UPDATE at end of story
1000 EDT November 1, 2008 – Drudge Report is apparently wrong.
Drudge is reporting that Zogby will release info tomorrow that shows McCain takes a 1-point lead in Friday polling…
From Drudge: ZOGBY: MCCAIN MOVES INTO LEAD 48-47 IN ONE DAY POLLING
ZOGBY SATURDAY: McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday poll. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all…
John Zogby, who got the poll numbers so wrong in 2004, when he predicted a fairly comfortable Kerry lead on Election day, vowed in a recent article to not repeat his mistakes, one of which Zogby said was “hubris”.
UPDATE – 1000 EDT November 1, 2008
Drudge source apparently wrong. From Zogby site:
Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby Poll: Is McCain Making a Move?
UTICA, New York—Republican John McCain made a small gain against Democrat Barack Obama and has pulled back within the margin of error, now trailing Obama by five points, 49.1% to 44.1%, the latest Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily tracking telephone poll shows.
Almost two days worth of the polling—or about half of the current sample in the three-day rolling poll of likely voters nationwide, was conducted after Obama’s 30-minute commercial aired Wednesday evening. There is no evidence it helped him, as he has dropped 1.1 points in the last two days, while McCain has gained 0.8 points during the same period.
Pollster John Zogby: “Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. “Obama’s lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama’s good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on.”
UPDATE #2 0805 EST November 2 2008
The 48-47 McCain lead is from Zogby’s one-day Friday poll of 1000 likely voters. Zogby’s 3-day average is still showing a slight Obama lead.

Independents and undecideds are going to break for McCain.

I live in a very red state. My candidates almost always win. I can’t imagine living in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I would actually have to get out and work. I don’t think I’d get a minute’s sleep through the whole campaign. I remember going to bed on election night and dreading a Kerry administration looming. This new poll is great news. I hope it is true.

Don’t be fooled – State polls are the ones that matter. McCain can’t win this election.
Oh and independents and undecideds will break both ways – use some common sense.

Would that be the same John Zogby that called the 2004 Election for John Kerry?
And by the way sparky…you forgot a HUGE part of that Drudge post:
“The three-day average holds steady”
OOPS…GOTCHYA

This is the way it works with Zogby.: like the other pollsters he pushes for the Democrat. In his case, it is always about Islam and Arabs. But he swerves at the end to pretend that there is a shift. Thus he saves his reputation. I have read a relatively unknown study that shows that over 90% of the employees of pollsters are Democrats, and GIVE MONEY TO DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES. Now that is strange. They simply got the names of employees and correlated them. That means that over 90% of these firms gave over $200 dollars to a Democratic candidate. 2% gave similarly to a Republican. The biggest donors…the names on the doors. BTW, one might ask why there would be such a congregation. And like journalism, the answer is simple. Because they are driven to their political goal and believe dishonesty in their occupation is a small price to pay.

This is GREAT NEWS!
BTW, I have already voted here in Northern California for John McCain. Me and my children stand and wave U.S. flags, YES ON ballot 8 for traditional marriage, and McCain-Palin signs for a few minutes almost every day. Many people here in Northern California (I think it may have been 87% in my county that voted for Mr. Bush Jr.) are honking their horns, waving and giving us the thumb up sign. It is very encouraging.
It’s like GOP House Minority Leader John Boehner said, don’t EVER give up!
If YOU and I show enthusiam, people will take notice and respond.
Many people fail to understand that when a person takes some kind of stand, people are forced to react to that stand, whether one way or another. But if no stand at all is percieved, then momentum is maintained for the particular prevailing flow, whatever it is.
Take as an example me and my kid’s enthusiam shown through our willingness to publically and happily encourage others about our belief about the presidential election and the prop issue. Since many hundreds of people have seen us, many may become encouraged enough to talk to one or more people about it, with some possibly getting pro-McCain signs or putting a McCain bumper sticker on their vehicle. These reactions can cause still other reactions, which cause still other reactions, and so forth and so on.
Some people who might not otherwise vote could decide to not only vote, but get someone else to vote with them. Some people who were going to vote for Obama now may either vote for Mr. McCain, someone other than Obama for President, or not vote for President. Some people who were going to put an Obama sticker on their vehicle or other item may change their minds, while other Obama supporters who were enthusiastic, may tone down their support for Obama, causing more reactions.
This is how Movements are born, things get changed, and how Mr. McCain can become President of the United States.
All hands on deck and man the stations for battle! Sound the alarm and STAND UP FOR JOHN McCAIN!
John McCain spent 22 years – five and one half as a POW – in service to his beloved country in the military. He stood up for America and is an American HERO!
Stand UP! for a great American hero and a corruption-fighting Governor of reform!
Stand UP! and be counted with those that stand up for truth, America and a reformed Washington DC!
Let their be no mistake as to whose side you are on, and wear your McCain button on your clothing to show your support for what is good for our country.
McCain-Palin<——-don’t hang around foreign OR domestic terrorists, racists, antisemites or crinimal slum lords, or want to shove a $1,000,000,000,000 dollar risky, socialist, welfare redistrubution plan on an economy in recession, causing it to fall into a deep DEPRESSION!

I have heard all the promises and change talk over and over for more than 60 years, and guess what, look where they have all taken us. democrats or republican is all the same thing.
two slices from the same pie. same crust, same filling. sdame end results !
the only way for america to survive is vote all incumbants out of office, and where there isn’t any, vote independent……………create gridlock and restore the checks an balances !!

Zogby now has McCain winning by 1.
How many Muslim brothers does Obama have again? It’s five, right?
His Aunt and Uncle or living here illegally while fraudulently getting benefits?
His mentor WIlliam Ayers dedicated his book to the guy who killed JFK Jr?
Wake up America, Barack Obama is the biggest Manchurian candidate of all time.
You’re going to feel like an idiot when every Muslim in the Middle East is dancing in the streets after the election.

My friend, those Muslims do that everytime any Democrat wins an election here in the states. Both times Golden Boy Billy won, those countries were throwing huge street parties by the thousands. Why? Because they know America is weak with a Democrat in office, and a weak America is a victory for Middle Eastern Muslims. Put away the scalpal, people…… this stuff ain’t brain surgery.
Obama represents a HUGE victory for Middle Eastern Muslims, on par with the 9/11 attacks…… and will become an even bigger victory in the long run as our nation falls apart under Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Supreme Court. Shame that those Muslims seem to understand whats going on when so many millions of “Americans” right here at home have not a friggin’ clue.

It’s scary to think that the President may be selected by the dumbest Americans – Nascar, No College, etc. Sounds like lemmings that are driven around by the psycho game theorists of the Super rich.
It looks like this time the masters may have Bush-whacked themselves.
One can hope.

Jim Otto,
I would take my chances with the 1500 “dumbest Americans–Nascar, no college, etc.–over the 1500 smartest Ph.ds from Berkeley or Harvard.
Don’t know any problems Nascar, no-college Americans for certain have caused the country.
On the other hand, elitist, smug, self-assured jackasses, who think they know best how others should live, are a curse–not only for themselves, but for everyone else as well.
Thanks for stopping by,reading and taking the time to comment.
