Some pages of the new party site say that he was a member, other pages only say endorsed. Some people have tried to use this to say that Obama can’t help it if someone endorses him. But there is no question that he was a member, and not just endorsed. The Illinois New Party Contract required that he be a member. They would not have endorsed him, if he wasn’t a member.
