DBKP runs lots of anti-Obama stories. We have no incentive to lie.

We’ve also run lots of anti-McCain stories. Again, we have no incentive to lie.

A check of API archives, which we did when the story first broke, shows that they do occasionally get points of fact wrong, which they correct.

I will label those I disagree with in the media a lot of things, but I don’t believe I’ve used the term “liar”. I did say that John Edwards lied several times, as well as Larry Sinclair. But, we had proof.

Our linked sources this story consisted of API, Fox, Media Bistro, ABC News and Greta Van Susteran.

NRO;s Byron York published the denial of the Obama campaign after the initial API story. It also published Byron York’s opinions. We differed with York over his opinions during the John Edwards scandal. Although York got several points of fact quite wrong on the Edwards’ story and was alerted to it, he chose not to correct them. Now, his errors are a matter of checking the public record. While we agree with the vast majority of the things York writes, he (like us) is not infallible.

Our unnamed sources have not been shown to be anything but completely accurate and truthful. Of course, you cannot know that; labeling them as “liars” is merely your opinion.

I don’t fault your comment: you don’t have access to anything but the linked sources. After the smoke clears, it might turn out that you may be right.

You may also be wrong.

Time will tell.

It seems as if the API folks might have pulled a scam on you and others in the blogosphere — and those scams seem to be “going around” these days. Just this past Monday, a “Kenyan journalist” tried to lure me into a “honey trap” by offering “very valuable private and confidential damning info about Senator Barack Obama that may tilt the stakes in the presidential election and change the course of American history” plus a Qur’an Signed By Obama and given to a “girlfriend” during a trip he supposedly made to that country “just before he went to Harvard.” A friend and I had great fun pretending to take his “bait.”
