Joe Biden’s Near-Fatal Brain Aneurysms: MSM Tells Two Different Tales of Recovery
Pundits have wondered whether John McCain’s age, 72, and his health, the Senator from Arizona was diagnosed with melanoma, a form of skin cancer, in 2000, could lead to his running mate Governor Sarah Palin ending up “closer than a heartbeat” to the Oval Office. Yet few pundits have used the same type of scrutiny in examining Barack Obama’s VP pick, 65-year-old Senator Joe Biden from Delaware, and the very scary incidence of two near-fatal brain aneurysms in 1988. The same health condition which led to the premature death of U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio on August 20th.
DBKP has discovered where the MSM has two entirely different renditions of how long Biden’s recovery process took place. Would it make a difference to the voting public if Biden’s recovery, according to Fox News, were a “matter of weeks”, or if Biden’s near-fatal brain aneurysms left the Senator away from his office and duties for seven months and led to a Senate debate on whether he should be asked to step down?
Joe Biden, Barack Obama’s VP pick for the 2008 Presidential election, is in the words of the blog, Neocon Latina, the “gift that keeps on giving”.
NeoCon Latina, puts together some videos of Biden’s statements regarding Obama, Hillary, and the Presidential election, plus a great Youtube video of Biden in 1988, boasting about his “IQ” and his amazing recollection of his former academia years which, it turns out, were all lies.
Even though the MSM is touting Biden’s health as “good” we’ve found two vastly different accounts of Biden’s recovery from “two surgeries to correct near-fatal brain aneurysms in 1988″. Fox News reported in Biden Healthy, But at Increased Risk for Aneurysm, Doctor Says that after Biden’s surgeries his recovery period was, following two surgeries, merely a matter of “weeks”:
“But Biden did have warning signs: When the first aneurysm ruptured, he suffered neck pain and nausea. Apparently, the second aneurysm tore without warning signs, but it was repaired a few weeks after the first, and he was back to work at the Senate soon thereafter.”
Yet USA Today reported that Biden was out for a period of seven months following his near-fatal brain aneurysms in 1988:
In his book “Promises to Keep,” Biden described having headaches and passing out for five hours in a hotel room after a foreign policy speech before discovering his aneurysms.
A priest read him his last rites at a Wilmington hospital where doctors told him an artery in his brain was leaking blood, he wrote.
“Tests at Walter Reed Army Medical Center near Washington, D.C., showed he had two aneurysms — one below the left side of his brain and another on the right side. Doctors recommended surgery to remove both.
“As I heard it, my chances of surviving the surgery were certainly better than fifty-fifty,” he wrote. “But the chances of waking up with serious deficits to my mental faculties were more significant.”
The first surgery, performed on Feb. 12, 1988, lasted four and a half hours. The second surgery came on May 4. Recovery kept him out of the Senate for seven months.”
According to Biden spokesman David Wade, Biden’s medical record will be “released” to the media at a later date.
DBKP wondered on what date Biden plans on releasing his medical records. Why the hold-up? Will his medical records be released to the public before November 4th?
1987-88 were watershed years for Biden. In 1987 Biden ran in the Democratic primary election for President against Governor Dukakis of Massachusetts and Missouri Congressman Richard Gephardt. According to the Washington Post, Biden dropped out of the primary election after a series of revelations which painted an unflattering portrait of the Senator of Delaware as a plagiarist, boaster, and outright liar:
“A barrage of subsidiary revelations by the press also contributed to Biden’s withdrawal: a serious plagiarism incident involving Biden during his law school years; the senator’s boastful exaggerations of his academic record at a New Hampshire campaign event; and the discovery of other quotations in Biden’s speeches pilfered from past Democratic politicians.”
Biden withdrew from the race in September of 1987 declaring that ”the exaggerated shadow” of his mistakes had ”begun to obscure the essence of my candidacy and the essence of Joe Biden.”
According to an article in the New York Times, Biden had used without attribution “long portions of a moving address by the British Labor Party leader, Neil Kinnock. Later, it emerged that he had also used passages from the speeches of Robert F. Kennedy and Hubert H. Humphrey.”
The Times claimed that Biden had tried to argue that he had made “mistakes” but when he was faced with a double-whammy coming on the heels of the plagiarizing speeches, of plagiarizing “portions of a law review article” then caught on tape lying about his academic credentials, Biden saw the writing on the wall and dropped out of the race. Five months after withdrawing from the 1988 Presidential primary, Biden suffered two near-fatal brain aneurysms, “a weakening of the walls of an artery or vessel. When the artery ruptures, it causes bleeding into the brain, causing a hemorrhage, which can lead to stroke, brain damage and death”.
As for the length of Biden’s recovery process from the two near-fatal brain aneurysms in 1988, there was talk in the Senate of whether Biden should consider “stepping down”. According to the Honolulu Advertiser, long time colleague and friend, Senator Daniel Inouye stated that it was a “painful thing to bring up to his friend because he knew quitting was not part of Biden’s nature”.
Biden has yet to release his medical records while the true story of Biden’s bout with two near-fatal brain aneurysms in 1988 wasn’t mentioned by the MSM until the sudden death of Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio in August.

Excuse me for failing to understand the point of this smear, I mean, uh, article. Biden lifted quotes without attribution and he had two brain aneurysms. In 1988. 20 years ago. And because Biden hasn’t yet released his medical records, this means exactly what?

Okay, so we don’t know how long it took for Biden to recover from his two aneurysms and the brain surgery therefor twenty years ago, and this is extremely significant and more important than McCain’s much more recent melanomas? I can’t tell, because this so-called article is actually a rambling conglomeration of various points assembled for a difficult to discern purpose because ultimately there is no point to what the author is saying.

Biden is not perfect.
However, in 2007 when Obama was still a presidential candidate, Obama said “he would send troops into Pakistan to hunt down terrorists even without local permission if warranted . …” Joe Biden disagreed with Obama, saying that such a statement indicated Obama’s inexperience in foreign affairs. Joe was, I believe, correct. He was sharp enough to discern wisdom or the lack thereof in foreign affairs.
Frankly, I am much more forgiving of Biden’s harmless gaffes, factual inaccuracies, and bombast than I was of Bush’s constitution-shredding behavior and warmongering, not to mention his egregious christofascism. At least Joe’s heart is in the right place, and I’ve never seen him fail to put country first.
As Voltaire, the embodiment of the 18th-century Enlightenment, wrote: “The perfect is the enemy of the good.”

Anyone who doesn’t understand the origin of Joe Biden’s gaffs and inappropriate remarks and jokes only needs to talk to an experienced neurologist or neurosurgeon who has seen the result of frontal lobe brain damage ( a common occurence with aneurysms and surgery for same) and they will understand that poor Joe is a classic case of “Witzelsucht”. God forbid anything should ever incapacitate Obama!

Generally, brain aneurysms cannot be detected but only after rapture. Probably this may be the reason in Biden’s case.

I had an aneurysm that ruptured a year ago. And, two surgeries, plus six months of therapy (physical, speech and occupational). I look fine now and feel fine too, but my cognition isn’t the same as it was. Don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or becase of the aneurysm. But, all the same – I’m routing for Joe Biden.
