When we are our DBKP Road Trip over Labor Day weekend, we stumbled across the 7th Annual Car & Bike Show for Sight. Hundreds of vehicles from the surrounding areas turned up–over 900 cars and bikes.
The show is a fund raiser for the local Lions Clubs. There was a $10.00 donation per entry and dash plaques and awards were given out. Getting there a bit later in the day, we missed some of the cars that bugged out earlier, but there were still, by best estimates, at least 500 cars and bikes on the spacious Cabela’s parking lots when we arrived.
The turnout was larger than the 700+ cars that showed up in 2007. The event was the baby of organizer, Dan Dague, of Moundsville, WV and was judged a huge success. Unfortunately, Mr. Dague was felled the very next day by a heart attack and passed away.
But these pictures of his event live on. There are many pictures, so the first 15 are presented in this segment. More to come every day this week until we use them all.

UPDATE: September 15, 2008–Our Automotive Adviser, RidesAPaleHorse answered our question: Just what the heck make, model and year were all these cars? Here’s his answers:
#1 69 Plymouth Road Runner
#2 Pretty sure this is a 69 Chevelle. Know it’s a Malibu just not sure of the year.
#3&4 1929 Ford Tudor. This was the first car I ever owned. I was 13, paid $25 for it.
#5 Really not sure about this one. Looks like a 1927 “T” body
#6 1940 Willys coupe
#7 1955 Chevy Bel Aire
#8 Could be a “Styres” VW trike. Popular back in the late 70s . Fiberglass bodied.
#9 ’49 Ford
#10 ’53 Chevy with 55 Chev taillights molded in.
#11 ’49 Chevy Deluxe Fastback.
#12 This is kind of an oddball. It’s a ’67 Ford Fairlane but has been modified to look like a ’64 Ford Fairlane “Thunderbolt”. Hood and blacked out lower headlights. Actually, the headlights were removed and served as air intakes for the engine on the original ’64. As far as I know, ’64 was the only year that the Thunderbolt was produced.
#13 1968 Pontiac GTO.
Thanks goodness for the Gear-Headed among us!
