An American Carol: Movie Slaps Around Michael Moore and Liberals
An American Carol: Two Video Trailers
A conservative movie?
From Hollywood?
Is this a joke?

It’s not often–ever?–that a Hollywood movie makes fun of socialized health care, Michael Moore and most things Liberals hold dear.
But An American Carol, a new movie from David Zucker, “the master of questionable taste” (Airplane!, The Naked Gun, Scary Movie 3 and 4) does all of these and more.
In An American Carol, Kevin Farley (Monk, Curb Your Enthusiasm) plays Michael Malone, an infamous “Hollywood†filmmaker who’s made a career out of criticizing America. When his newest crusade becomes an Ebenezer Scrooge-esque “Bah, humbug!†to abolish the Fourth of July holiday, he is visited by three spirits from America’s past who rise up to show him the error of his ways. In this outrageous and totally irreverent political satire, Malone has to confront the true effects of his films on the world around him while discovering the true meaning of America and what it stands for.
UPDATE at end of story.

[ABOVE: Jon Voight, as George Washington, and Kelsey Grammer, as Gen. George S. Patton, are two of the three spirits that visit film maker, Michael Malone, during the night of July 4, in the upcoming comedy, An American Carol.]
Perhaps mindful that the film will not get talked up much in the MSM, the film’s producers are trying a new-but-risky tactic: they are trying to inform potential theater attendees of the movie by using the Right Blogosphere.
The move is risky because one remembers a movie that got tremendous “buzz” online, but fizzled when it came time for movie-goers to pony up for a ticket: Snakes on a Plane.
Packed with Zucker’s trademark visual gags and verbal comedy, prepare yourself to laugh at the expense of people in Hollywood, Washington, D.C., and everyone in between.
In addition to Kevin Farley, the movie stars Kelsey Grammer, Zucker mainstay Leslie Neilsen, country music star Trace Adkins, Dennis Hopper, James Woods, Robert Davi, Geoffrey Arend, Serdar Kalsin and Jon Voight.
Now, this is a Hollywood film taking a risk: slapping Michael Moore and his views up alongside the head.
Any bets on what the odds of it receiving any Oscar nominations?
Will audiences go see it?
Will people hear about it to make that decision?
The movie debuts in theaters nationwide on October 3 with the slogan, “Be Heard on October 3rd”.
Guess we’ll know more about the box office success of a conservative movie on October 6.

The liberals will be angry – freedom of speech only applies when you’re supporting THEM, not opposing them. Since they don’t approve of this, they will want to ban it.

Lame. I don’t approve of this and I want it banned. You are making fun of my freedom of speech with your speech, so you should lose that right. You should not be opposing me.

That’s FUNNY! It’s normally the right that is accused of type of hypocrisy – and for good reason. Watch O’Reilly or Limbaugh or most of the ‘newscasters’ on Fox. They’re constantly shouting down those who dare voice opinions that are contrary to RNC talking points. My favorite example of the Right silencing the opposition is O’Reilly telling his engineers to cut the guest’s mic.
On the other hand, Rachael Maddow and Keith Olbermann – two of the left’s most vocal advocates – don’t talk over guests. For instance, despite Rachael and Keith obviously disagreeing with his opinion, Pat Buchannon, a regular guest on their shows, is treated with respect.
Not much chance of that happening on O’Reilly or Limbaugh or Fox.
Fair and balanced my behind.
The way I’ll ‘ban’ this film is to not see it in the theater or rent/buy the DVD.

We’ll want it banned? Hell no- I want it shown in every movie theater in the country, at the filmmaker’s expense. I want them to advertise heavily and to spend millions promoting it in every venue.
Because if history has taught us anything, it’s taught us that David Zucker lost his touch far more than a decade ago and that “lampooning” doesn’t mean kicking a guy in the balls and stomping on his head because you disagree with him. What a huge douchebag. Rick (from the comments) and David Zucker, that is.
Ever wonder why South Park lost a large chunk of its audience? Because it’s just not funny when you have absolutely nothing clever to say and you spend all of your energy calling someone an idiot instead of actually bothering to WRITE A JOKE. Mean + funny is funny to just about everyone. Mean with no direction is absolutely pointless and less funny than not telling a joke in the first place. In other words, calling a fat guy a fat guy in a direct manner 10 different ways is NOT funny and you’ve got the humor of a 3rd grader if you think so.
This movie will bomb even harder than every other Zucker movie and “Expelled” combined. Keep making pointless movies, Conservative Hollywood!
On a side note, I’d love to see the cheap “nut shot” jokes banned from ALL movies from now on.
