Palin, McCain a Hit with Crowd
CNN’s Story All About “Boos”

John McCain and Sarah Palin appeared in Pennsylvania for the first time as the GOP ticket for November and both were well-received by the overflowing crowd.

Sarah Palin, however, was a hit.

The large and enthusiastic crowd packed Consol Energy Field, located south of Pittsburgh in Washington, PA, and cheer, flags and McCain-Palin “Terrible Towel” knockoffs were the order of the day.

The Alaskan governor spoke after a warm-up by McCain. McCain’s enthusiasm for his running mate was evident in his intro: the Arizona senator sounded confident throughout his glowing description of Palin as “the American story”.

“She’s not part of the American story, she is an American story.”

CNN was on the scene, and producer, Peter Hamby, led with “Palin Booed for Mentioning Hillary Clinton“.

While that was true, it was the only boos of the afternoon; Palin even got some applause a line earlier when she mentioned Geraldine Ferraro. The 5 seconds of Hillary boos were an anomaly in, what was clearly, a political lovefest.

But what else would CNN have reported? CNN is a flagship of the Mainstream Media and this is one more example of their “unbiased” reporting.

In just her second appearance on the campaign trail with John McCain, newly-minted GOP running mate Sarah Palin was showered with boos on Saturday for attempting to praise Clinton’s trail-blazing bid to become the first female president.

One woman from Penn Hills, holding a “Women for McCain” sign thought Palin was just what McCain needed.

“She’s a conservative and she moves the Republicans back to where they need to be.”

A brilliantly-sunny afternoon on a Labor Day weekend and an obviously fired-up crowd wouldn’t be news for Hamby’s regular remaining viewers.

Before the McCain-Palin entourage arrived in the “Straight Talk Express” buses, the crowd was entertained by former Steeler and 2006 PA Republican gubernatorial candidate, Lynn Swann. Swann related about how when he covered the Iditarod dogsled race in Alaska, he was interviewed by Palin, working, at the time, as a sports reporter for an Alaskan TV station.

Former PA governor and Director of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, introduced McCain to the crowd. Swann made a hasty exit to go see his son play in a pee-wee football game.

A few dozen Obama supporters lined the entrance road to the stadium before the event and urged the crowd to support what they called “real change”.

So the Obama supporters urged for real change at the end of the entrance,? …WOW…for me real change in Washington is stopping the pork spending that is : billions of dollars , the unnecessary spending in PORK in those political projects that do not help the US but only a few politicians, OBama has spent at the rate of a million a day in PORK. What change are they talking about.??? and has chosen a Washington polititian to help him…?

…Gov. Sarah Palin is for me the real change, she sold the Alaska Government jet in e bay, that is a change. She fought oil companies and she building the long waited gas pipe line. She will have the US to use our own resources in gas and oil so we will not depend on foreign countries. THat is going to be a real change in our overall security ……, big change.

She went to Alaska and fought corruption in her own party and else where and then she opened a welcome hand across the party lines to democrats and independents. She is a fantastic change, the change that makes me cry of happiness. We have been resigned to accept pork from our own elected officials in Washington, Mc Cain has never asked for money for pork .
I wish that the people that have been attracted by Obama’s call for change realize the difference between deeds and words.
They are very welcome to support change, positive, real change not only in words and speeches. As Senator Palin said come and join us, all of you men and women. All of you honest and brave Americans.
The fact she is a woman is even more amazing, but what is really amazing is her capacity for change and doing things instead of talking….that is a change for me.

Grace, what Kool-Aid have you been drinking? Palin’s husband works for BP Oil!!!!!

I watched her speech, and it made my kidney stone worse. She has a very abrasive voice, it’s like cats being castrated.

I had a visceral, gut reaction when I first saw/heard this woman: I cannot stand her, and the more I read/learn about her, the more I loathe her.

And to think I was seriously considering not voting this Nov. Ha! McPain changed that in a nanosecond with this pick. And I’m in NY, which is going for Obama, so it’s not that my vote counts anyway. But this was like sticking me in the eye with a needle. ARGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good story…I linked it to my forum when someone created a thread with CNN’s demeaning headline…

I responded using this link with the commentary…

“The issue has to do with “framing”…

The crowd was obviously 99.99% gleeful and cheering, but CNN CHOSE to make th 0.01% of the story the actual headline…

It’s like a pitcher throwing a no-hitter and having the headline read “Pitcher walks 2 in the Fourth Inning”…:(

With all due respect, you need marriage counseling, not a vote for vice president.

We women have been listening to men (who’s accent or voice we hate) for over 200 years!

It’s our turn baby! You just may have to deal with it.
