Of course she knew about it- so did the Obama camp. It had already been in the NE and there were rumors going on before that was published so I don't think any of the other campaigns were fooled by his first denials. If Hillary was going to do that, she would have done it way before then. But you're forgetting it was actually to Hillary's advantage that Edwards stay in the race. In some states, it hurt her that he left because his votes went to Obama. Hillary supporters were unhappy he left the race- they knew he couldn't win but he would still draw votes away from Obama. It was in her best interest that he stay in. And in the debate before he left, he actually helped Hillary in the debate by being there. So no, I don't believe Hillary pushed him out. It was strange he did not endorse, but many thought it was because although he agreed with Obama in so many things, he agreed with Hillary on healthcare and universal healthcare was one of his big priorities so people thought he might be conflicted. I agree, something else was going on, though- maybe he will tell us after we get his confession.

If I remember correctly, Mr. Edwards, and Mrs. Edwards too in a way, did "endorse" Mr. Obama later - I forgot which news Mr. Obama was trying to deflect at that time, and the press was unable to figure out the emptiness of his, or their, delayed endorsement.
