South Carolina Not So Gay About Homo Ads
South Carolina has pulled its overseas “South Carolina is so gay” ad.
“If the ad had said, ‘You will love the Southern Baptist beaches,’ I would also be offended,” he said. “If a homosexual is attracted here, that’s great. But I have a problem with tax money being spent on ads with a social viewpoint, particularly with sexual orientation.” Greenville Senator David Thomas
The ad was relatively cheap, $4942, and was designed by the company, Out Now. The ads were run in London to coincide with this month’s gay pride festival.
The state of S. Carolina is refusing to pay for the ad, claiming it didn’t go through the proper channels.
The state also denies the ad’s claim that there’s any gay beaches. We found three “gay” beaches listed on the site, Pride.net.

OLD COAST GUARD STATION
Nude sun bathing
Take a right off of Center St. and go all the way to the end which is a County Public Park with bath houses and life guards ect. You have to walk past all of that way down the beach until you come near the river. That is where numerous nude bathers have been seen over the past ten or fifteen years. Surely, nude bathing is not legal in the bible belt, but it seems that eyes of the law are averted unless some holier than thou calls it in. You take your chances. The water is very treacherous and currents are extremely bad on the ends of the island. Looks are very deceptive and over the years many have drowned in those waters. So, sunbathing is fine but swimming, even wading around out there is very dangerous. Where the river and ocean meet is always a dangerous place. NOTE: Many thanks to the person who updated this info for us.
