The Mainstream Media “cone of silence” surrounding the John Edwards Love Child Scandal is starting to crack.
One brave reporter in Houston, asked Edwards about the affair in LA.

One thing that could drastically change this story — what if it’s not his kid? Reille Hunter seems, by a few accounts, to be a bit of an oddball. So far, we only have her word that it’s his child. Perhaps Elizabeth Edwards will demand a DNA test. Or, perhaps the friend that set up the rendezvous last Monday will be itching to blow the lid off the story. Edwards has to play his cards right at the moment: demanding a DNA test might piss off the mistress, so he’d better not do that. And speaking of the mistress: if she really is mentally unstable, it’s only a matter of time before this tension-filled situation pushes her too far and perhaps she’ll blab to a reporter in a bid for the attention she no longer gets from Edwards (surely his handlers have told him he can never see her again!). Maybe she’s just biding her time until Elizabeth dies, thinking she and the child will just step right in.
And if he pulls back from Reille, would he turn his back on his child, too? If Elizabeth Edwards is not long for this world, will John Edwards wait until she dies, then claim the child and say that he was just waiting until Elizabeth was gone before admitting the truth? That strategy just might work.
