Enquirer Reporters File Criminal Charges
Hotel Security Interfered with Questioning Edwards
Brilliant. Bloody brilliant.
Two reporters from the National Enquirer, Alan Butterfield and Alexander Hitchen, have filed a criminal complaint with the Beverly Hills Police Department against the Beverly Hilton’s hotel security for unlawfully keeping the reporters from questioning Edwards during the events at the hotel. NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporters Alan Butterfield and Alexander Hitchen filed a criminal complaint with the Beverly Hills Police Department on Thursday, July 25, charging that hotel security acted unlawfully while the reporters were trying to question the former senator.
One has to wonder: would the security staff have rushed to protect Edwards if the two reporters had been from the New York Times?
Not that the New York Times would have had reporters questioning Edwards about an unpleasant topic at 2:40 am in the Beverly Hilton.

Edwards now could be contacted by police to give an eyewitness account of what occurred.
The twist in a story that has had many twists: the Enquirer reporters were registered guests at the hotel–and Edwards was not.
Hotel security tried to stop the reporters from questioning Edwards in the basement of the hotel at approximately 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 22 after Edwards came off an elevator and appeared to be attempting to leave the hotel unseen.
The security detail intervened while the reporters were attempting to question Edwards and, according to the Enquirer, “not only did one security guard threaten to break their camera but that security also violated several statutes of the California Penal Code, including false imprisonment and preventing a guest from entering land.”
The Enquirer also stated that “Police recorded the criminal complaint and will turn it over to detectives.”
It’s been speculated and rumored that the entire escapade was caught on the hotel’s security video surveillance system, which is obviously now, evidence in a criminal complaint. Much harder for it to “disappear” now.
Finally, Edwards will have to go on the record–the police will not take an attack on the Enquirer as an answer to their questions. It’s sad when the police have to fulfill the role of the supposedly “adversarial press”.
Will this excite any interest among the MSM gatekeepers?
Perhaps–but doubtful.
But that doesn’t make the filing of the charges any less inspired.

You can see that she gave an interview to EXTRA on their website when this first came out. She has a very colorful history and likes the attention.
All of the information is coming from a “source” close to Rielle.
She wants this to come out, she wants John to admit to the relationship. I don’t blame her. I’m sorry for Elizabeth. She was the brain behind the man. Elizabeth got sick and had to focus on herself rather than him. She lost his attention and he is an insensitive narcissist who is incapable of understanding how to use a condom.

Is John Edward’s private life that important ? Is this story a Republican Smear Campaign ? Politics and the media are are just brutal. Amazingly, as things were going so well for Barack Obama, all of a sudden this story hits the wire. Conspiracy or Fact ?

Of course it’s important! If Trent Lott’s remarks at a birthday party were “important” enough to get him drummed out of a leadership position, then the running mate of John Kerry and possible running mate of Barack Obama having an affair and an illegitimate child is CERTAINLY a human interest story. And don’t blame anybody for failing to keep the conspiracy of silence: If John Edwards had showed better judgement, he wouldn’t have gotten himself into this mess.
Important? Well, if it was unimportant, why did Edwards hide in the bathroom for 15 minutes like a scared child? If Kerry had been elected, this poor excuse for a human being would have been a heartbeat away from being our president.
You’re damn right it’s news. The press has gone nuts over less (John McCain falsely accused of consorting with a lobbyist) — just so long as the person they’re bringing down is a Republican. All they had to do is follow up on the Enquirer’s claims, which they pointedly did NOT.

It is not important. He is no longer a Public Figure in Government. Who cares, this will not cause him to “step down” from any leadership position, he is not governing anyone. It is time we stop invading peoples privacy.
