Meeting with Obama Took Place in
The Room Larry Sinclair Didn’t Have

DBKP has been debunking Larry Sinclair, the man who accused Barack Obama of engaging in illicit sex and illegal drugs in November 1999.

In Part I [Debunking Larry Sinclair: Obama Accuser Allegations Based on Time Travel], we exposed the fatal flaw in Sinclair’s story, the “why” Sinclair allegedly came to his decision to contact Obama’s campaign in September of 2007.

In Part II [Debunking Larry Sinclair: Part II - The Limo Driver], we looked at the key witness in Sinclair’s story, the mysterious limo driver.

Part III takes a look at the timeline of Sinclair’s story, from the first meeting alleged by Sinclair at an “upscale lounge”, to a second “tryst” at a Choice Hotel in Gurnee, Illinois in November of 1999.

First, we’ll establish the timeline of events; then, we’ll look at the contradictions and discrepancies.

Sinclair surfaced in cyberspace with his allegations of gay sex and illegal drug use between he and Obama on January 17 in his original video posted on Youtube.

We pulled these three quotes made by Sinclair in the video, as they’re instrumental in setting up the foundation of the timeline regarding Sinclair’s allegations:

“Hi, my name is Larry Sinclair. I’m making this video and posting it on Youtube because of an incident involving myself and Senator Barack Obama between November 3rd and November 8th in the Chicago, Illinois area.”

“During those time periods in 1999, I met Obama at an upscale lounge in Chicago, Illinois.”

“In 1999 I performed oral sex on you (Obama) in the back of my limo as well as in my hotel room in Gurnee, Illinois, two days later.”

Make note of the dates, November 3rd to November 8th, and the “as well as in my hotel room in Gurnee, Illinois, two days later”.

Chicago, Illinois, November 1999

From Sinclair’s press statement released June 18, 2008, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.:

“I flew out of Colorado Springs, Colorado to Chicago on November 2, 1999, arriving in O’Hare early in the morning of November 3, 1999. I went to the Chicago area to attend the graduation of my godson (my best friend’s son) from basic training from the Great Lakes Navy Training Center. I made reservations at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Gurnee, IL based on the location to the Navy Training Center.”

…

“On November 5, 1999, I hired the services of Five Star Limo. I had them for both November 5 and November 6.”

Sinclair set up his story as a trip to Chicago to attend the graduation of a godson at a local Naval academy:

“I was in the Chicago area for the graduation of my godson from the Great Lake Naval Training Center.”

There seems to be a discrepancy between how many nights Sinclair claimed he rented the limo from Five Star Limo Service:

In his press release Sinclair claimed he had the limo for two nights, the 5th and 6th. During a February 2nd interview on the Right Perspective, Sinclair stated he hired the limo for 3 nights:

“I had hired the limo for three nights during that trip.”

On 2-18, on the Chris Baker Radio Show, Sinclair once again claimed he had the limo for 3 “occasions”, “two occasions prior” to and the night he allegedly met Obama:

“I had had this driver on two occasions prior to the night of meeting Barack Obama. I was in the Gurnee-Chicago Illinois area for a graduation at the Great Lakes Navy Training Center that was held Friday, November 5th. I had arrived in Chicago on the 3rd of November.

During an interview on the Jim Sumpter Show on February 28, Sinclair claimed there were “3 occasions” in which he used the limo:

“I had the same limo driver on all three occasions. I had already informed the service as well as the driver that I wanted him to be the driver on Saturday.”

November 6th fell on a Saturday.

Sinclair claimed he met Obama in front of an upscale lounge via an introduction from the limo driver on November 6:

“On November 6, 1999, after picking me up at the Hotel in Gurnee-and this is significant Paramjit Multani used his cellphone to make a call. That call was made to then-Illinois State Senator Barack Obama to set up an introduction between me and Senator Obama.”

The “Upscale Lounge”

“When I get down to Rush Street, the limo stops, the driver opens the rear door on the driver’s side, and as he opens the door I notice there’s a gentleman standing next to him and I’m introduced to him as Barack Obama.

He’s (Obama) next to the driver…

Jim: And the driver says, Larry this is my friend Barack Obama?

Larry: That’s correct. We (Obama and Sinclair) went in, we had drinks for about an hour, hour and a half.”

“We went in, we had drinks, it was a casual conversation. I had told why I was in the Chicago area, what I was doing there. There was some conversations regarding what I did for a living, which were not so legal at the time.”

Sinclair claimed he and Obama had a “light conversation” which led to Obama to “procure $250 worth of cocaine” for Sinclair:

“I could use a couple of lines to wakeup. (to Obama) I had been extremely tired. I had only flown in after being on the road for 4 days prior to flying in Chicago, and he had made the comment to me if I was referring to coke. And I told him I was. And when I told him that what I was referring to, Senator Obama had stated to me that he could get it for me. At that time he made a phone call. After he made the phone call, we left, we got in the limo, Senator Obama was the one who instructed the driver where we were going. I’m going to say maybe at the most, 30 minutes of driving we stopped. Mr. Obama tells me he’ll be right back, he gets out, in less than five minutes he’s back in the car. I was speaking to the driver, the privacy window was down at that time.

Sinclair claimed he snorted coke while putting the moves on Obama:

“He gets back in the car, he hands me the packet. I have a CD case from a CD that I had put in the limo with me. I take the CD case, I pour some out on the CD case and make three lines on it. I kneel down into the floorboard of the limo and rest the CD case on Senator Obama’s left leg, and with a rolled up dollar bill, I do a line. I make the approach on Senator Obama, a sexual gesture, by rubbing up his leg into his crotch area.”

Sinclair gave details to what “occurred” during the time he and “Obama” were in the back of the limo:

“We were drunk, we were in the back of a limo where it was dark.”

“We were driving around the entire time. We were driving around the entire time because when the sex act ended our clothes were back on. I had a drink in my hand, he had a drink in his hand. I even stood up through the moon roof of the limo and lost my baseball cap that had been given to me by a friend, that had I of lost it, would have killed me. I had the driver actually pull over and I got out of the limo and ran down the freeway to pick up the hat.”

Sinclair claimed he and Obama spent “two hours in the limo”. Together with the time purportedly spent in the club, the two allegedly spent “maybe three and half, four hours” together, November 6.

The End of a “Normal night”

“The night ended pretty much like any normal night would. We had a few more drinks, we both decided to call it an evening.”

“At the end of the evening, the driver told me that it would be easier for him to go ahead and drop me off at the hotel, and that he could take Barak back to his car.
So I said fine, I had no problem with it, they were friends, they knew each other.”

Comfort Suites Hotel in Gurnee, Illinois

Sinclair alleged that Obama showed up at his hotel room in Gurnee, Illinois:

“Host: Obama came to your hotel room the next day uninvited? Is that correct?

Sinclair: He showed up unannounced and unexpected.

He shows up, he brings more coke. He offers me some, I tell him I still have some from the night before… he shows up specifically for sex, it was nothing more, nothing less. It was a quick blow job and he was out of there.”

Sinclair posted on his website, LarrySinclair.org, a copy of a letter from Choice Hotels International which Sinclair claims was proof “positive” that he was in the Chicago area during that time frame.

While Sinclair claimed the document provided by Choice Hotels was verifiable proof, the person who wrote the letter, a Senior Paralegal from Choice Hotels International, noted that she was “unable to authenticate” any information Sinclair may have in his possession.

Sinclair’s Non-Existent Room

While Sinclair may have been in Gurnee, Illinois, it’s the specific dates concerning Sinclair’s allegations that come into question. The Choice Hotel documents are the only documents supplied by Sinclair as “proof” that he “met” Obama in Chicago back in November of 1999.

At the bottom of the page are dates which show accrued “points”. Points are earned by Choice Hotel members based on “stays”. Sinclair’s Choice Hotel document states he “earned” 2298 points for a stay at the Comfort Suites Hotel in Gurnee, Illinois for the dates, November 3 – November 6, 1999.

The statement displayed all activity or “stays” through December 31, 1999. Based on this document, Sinclair could claim he stayed at the Comfort Suite Hotel on November 3rd through the 6th. Check out time at the Comfort Suites in Gurnee, Illinois, is 12 noon. Sinclair would have to have been out of his room on the 7th by noon, at the latest. [If a late checkout is requested in advance, one o'clock.]

There has been much hemming and hawing from Sinclair about when this second meeting supposedly occurred. Sinclair can recall many minute details of his alleged spree with Obama–but he can’t recall when Obama showed up at his hotel room.

“When” Obama supposedly showed up at Sinclair’s room has undergone constant revision by Larry Sinclair.

Sinclair claimed in the original Youtube video that the second incident with Obama took place “two days later” which would have placed Obama at the Comfort Suites when Sinclair had already “checked out”.

“In 1999 I performed oral sex on you (Obama) in the back of my limo as well as in my hotel room in Gurnee, Illinois, two days later.”

Two weeks later, Larry reconsiders when that meeting took place.

“He shows up at the hotel room and I said, the next day or two days later… I’m going to say it was the next day, I can’t be specific because I wasn’t sleeping well anyway.”

Having Obama show up at Sinclair’s Comfort Suite Hotel room on November 7 would have not worked: Sinclair’s Choice Hotel document stated Sinclair’s last night was November 6. Checkout was by 12 noon on the 7th.

If Obama had shown up at the Choice Hotel in Gurnee, IL in the “early evening” as Larry has claimed, Larry would not have been there to see him–he’d already checked out, according to the document he himself provided as “proof”.

Sinclair had an even larger problem trying to fit the date of November 8 into his scheme, as on March 13 he admitted on his blog, Larry Sinclair0926.com, that November 8 was the date he was “taken into custody” back in Colorado by the authorities.

“My parole was discharged on May 5, 2000–but my parole was in fact supposed to run through 2007. I was discharged 7 years early because of my good deeds.”

This was the first time Sinclair publicly admitted he was “on parole” in the state of Colorado during November of 1999.

“I was legally allowed to leave the state and in fact had permission to do so. I was taken into custody on 11-8-99 upon my return from Chicago because I did not speak with my PO (parole officer) personally when I called to advise I would not be back until the 8th, instead I left the info on the office voice mail system.”

During Sinclair’s original Youtube video, he claimed Obama showed up “two days later”. Six days after he posted his video on Youtube, Sinclair gave a different date when Obama allegedly came to Sinclair’s hotel room on the Jeff Rense Show:

“Rense: You had another encounter? A couple of days I guess?

It was the day … … it was the next or the day after… he had showed up at my hotel room.

It actually kind of shocked me, because I hear a knock on my hotel room door and I go to open it, and to my surprise is Mr. Barack Obama.”

From the Right Perspective:

“Obama came to your hotel room the next day uninvited? Is that correct?

Sinclair: He showed up unannounced and unexpected. He shows up, he brings more coke. He offers me some, I tell him I still have some from the night before… he shows up specifically for sex, it was nothing more, nothing less. It was a quick blow job and he was out of there.”

Sinclair claimed Obama showed up in the “early evening”–remember “check-out” time has already come and gone–Sinclair’s Choice Hotel document showed no “stay” listed for November 7:

“It was in the early evening, I can’t give you an exact hour. This was a total surprise to me. He showed up. He brought another packet, I still had some from the first packet that he had bought for me.”

Sinclair’s own document from Choice Hotels International stated Sinclair’s last night at the Comfort Suites in Gurnee, Illinois, was on November 6. November 6 is the date he alleged he “met” Obama at an upscale lounge and, took a ride in a rented limo where the two allegedly had illicit sex and did illegal drugs.

Sinclair would had to have checked out of his room on the 7th by at least noon–even a late checkout, which is not always granted–is at 1 pm. Sinclair claimed Obama showed up at his hotel room in the “early evening” on the same day, according to the Choice Hotel document he provided: but he would have had no room for Obama to show up at–”unannounced” or not.

Sinclair’s claim that Obama showed up at his hotel room in Gurnee on November 8 was further debunked by the fact that Sinclair admitted he was “taken into custody” on November 8 upon his return to Colorado. The arrest has been documented by DBKP and is a matter of public record.

If Obama had shown up at the Comfort Inn “early evening” on November 8, he also would have been out of luck, as Larry was arrested back in Colorado the same day and was jailed.

And last, but not least, it was the very first dates mentioned by Sinclair in his original Youtube video that caught our eye:

“Hi, my name is Larry Sinclair. I’m making this video and posting it on Youtube because of an incident involving myself and Senator Barack Obama between November 3rd and November 8th in the Chicago, Illinois area.”

Sinclair admitted in his own statements that he allegedly met Obama on November 6. So why did he use a wider range of dates beginning with November 3rd?

Sinclair further perpetuates the November 3rd date in a post he wrote on March 9 on his LarrySinclair0926.com blog:

RE: REQUEST FOR CELL PHONE AND EMAIL RECORDS Dear Senator Obama and Mr. Axelrod:I am submitting this written request asking that you and Mr. Axelrod authorize the release of the following:1. Cell Phone numbers, service providers for all personal and official cell phones held by Senator Obama for the time period of November 3, 1999 thru November 8, 1999.

Why would Sinclair feel he was entitled to a record of Obama’s cell phone calls for three days prior November 6, the day on which he claims he met Obama? Why would Sinclair ask for cell phone records for November 8, when he, himself admitted that he was taken into custody back in his home state of Colorado?

Sinclair made his original accusations, of a limo ride and hotel “quickie” with Obama in November of 1999. Sinclair claimed he was “coming forward” because Obama had “lied” about his past drug use:

“Rense: Should Barack Obama drop out?

Not at all! All he needs to do is simply come out and say, hey, you know what, maybe I misspoke when I said I hadn’t used drugs or I hadn’t done this since a certain period in my life.”

Those accusations were minor fluff compared to the next set of allegations Sinclair leveled against Obama.

On February 29, Sinclair opened up his blog for business. On March 27, Sinclair began to tell a new story involving Obama. Sinclair posted that Donald Young–a gay choirmaster at Obama’s former church, who was murdered in December–had contacted Sinclair… beginning in September.

In January, Sinclair called Obama “someone who was dishonest about their drug use and sex life”.

By the end of March, “murderer” had been added to Sinclair’s list of accusations against the Senator. In Part IV, Debunking Larry Sinclair, DBKP will take a closer look at Sinclair’s claims that he knew and was in contact with Donald Young and that Senator Obama was involved in Young’s murder.
