Larry Sinclair: Altered Choice Hotels Letter Exposed
Larry Sinclair, the man who accused Senator Obama of illicit sex and illegal drugs in November 1999, offered up as “proof”, a letter from Choice Hotels International.
DBKP has “uncovered” info that casts doubt on the validity of Sinclair’s “proof”.

Months ago Sinclair posted a link on his website to a letter that he claimed was “proof” that he met Senator Obama during a trip to Chicago back in 1999–a letter from Choice Hotels International. Please note: DBKP obtained our copy of the Choice Hotel Letter from another source, not from Sinclair’s website.

By using “zoom” and sharpening tools, DBKP was able to decipher exactly what Sinclair didn’t want us to see:
“While I cannot authenticate any information you currently have in your possession”
It’s no wonder Sinclair blacked this little line out of the document. Kerri Lanigan, the paralegal who sent Sinclair the Choice Hotel letter wrote that she was unable to “authenticate” Sinclair’s “information”.
Sinclair claims that he “met” Obama during a trip to Chicago back in November of 1999. The documents show a hotel stay at the Choice Hotel in Gurnee, Illinois on the dates of November 3-8. It was during this period that Sinclair claims he met up with Obama, offering these documents as “proof”.
DBKP maintains that the only “proof” provided by Sinclair is that he stayed at a Choice Hotel in Gurnee, Illinois on those dates. Sinclair has failed to provide any proof that Obama was anywhere in the vicinity, other than because Sinclair “says-so”.

DBKP has focused on the period surrounding Sinclair’s alleged “encounter” with Obama. On the Right Perspective, Sinclair admits he was a drug runner making “two hundred, three hundred thousand dollars a month” when he “met” Obama. But was this the truth, a lie, or an embellishment by Sinclair?
On his website he tells a different tale from the same period: how he had discharged his parole early, which he was serving in 1999.
I began serving my sentence in 1986 for a crime that I walked into the court room and admitted to doing from day one. I take responsibility for my actions and I have all my life. My Parole was discharged on May 5, 2000( but my parole was in fact supposed to run through 2007, I was discharged 7 years early because of my good deeds.) .
So how does one perform “good deeds” while running mass quantities of drugs?
On his website he mentions that he was picked up by the authorities the very day he returned from Chicago on November 8, the day after he maintains he met up with Obama at his Gurnee hotel room.

You doing your research does not scare me at all. Lets start with the first claim. Oh I will allow this to be posted because as I have said before I have nothing to hide.
On Sinclair’s website, he admits he was “on parole” when he “met Obama”. What he didn’t admit–until he was forced to–until others pointed it out–was that he’s also been wanted by the state of Colorado on a felony fraud warrant stemming from an incident back in 2000.
Sinclair filed a motion to dismiss claiming the $14,000 he deposited in his bank accounts, which he admits in his motion were used for drug money laundering, were legitimately his. That he was “owed” money by the very people who went to the cops. He also claimed that he and his family were receiving “death threats”, the very same claim he’s used against purported “crazy” Obama followers.
“Defendant (Sinclair) and defendant’s family residing in Pueblo Colorado have been repeatedly threatened with physical harm by Mrs. Segura, her husband, her sister, brother, mother, and others. Mrs. Segura and her family went to defendants mothers home in Pueblo in May, June, July and August 2000 repeatedly verbally threatening defendants mother, step-father, niece, nephew, with physical harm and on at least two occasions threatening individuals from Mexico would visit defendants mothers home and kill defendants family.” Source - Motion to Dismiss
Sound familiar? It should. Sinclair has the same m.o. with the Obama allegations. He claims he and his family, particularly his mother, have been threatened or received “death threats” by Obama supporters.
Sinclair has managed to perpetuate his claims that he and Obama engaged in sex and illegal drugs back in 1999 without a single, substantial shred of proof. He’s promised to produce the infamous “limo” driver but so far has failed to deliver. Instead he’s raised thousands of dollars on his website to help with “legal” costs and to finance his upcoming press conference. He claims he’s in the process of working on having the outstanding felony warrant “dismissed” in Colorado yet Crimestoppers still has him wanted by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office.
While Sinclair continues to claim he “just wants to do what’s right for America” and “expose” Obama, the “proof” he’s provided fails to prove he was anywhere near Senator Obama back in November of 99.
Instead more layers of the onion that is Larry Sinclair have been peeled away, its exposed an ex-con wanted by the state of Colorado on a felony fraud charge. A man who admitted he dealt mass quantities of drugs while on parole. A man who wants everyone to suspend their disbelief and follow along behind Larry–a vicious Pied Piper–as he casts nasty aspersions on Senator Obama.
Sinclair chose to “black” out an essential part of the letter that he claims lays the foundation of proof. Sinclair chose to “black” the part where Ms. Lanigan of Choice Hotels informs Sinclair that she is “unable to authenticate” his information.
For a man who claims he has a degree in law, this is called “tampering with evidence”. The very evidence he’s offered to the public as the foundation to his allegations. Sinclair wants us to condemn Obama on Sinclair’s “word”. When considering whether someone is “true to their word” then that person’s character, or credibility, comes into play. Sinclair, without providing proof, forces us to judge his accusations based on Sinclair’s credibility, or lack of.
Sinclair admitted he was dealing drugs while on parole, something we doubt his parole officer was privy to.
Sinclair admitted he was picked up by the authorities the day after he allegedly met with Obama for violating his parole.
Sinclair admitted he has a felony fraud warrant for his arrest in Colorado.
Sinclair did not admit to these incidents until others discovered them and he was forced to address them.
Sinclair admits in his motion to dismiss the felony fraud warrant that he deposited $14,000 into three of his own bank accounts that were used for “laundering drug money”.
Sinclair tried to “black out” the first line of the Choice Hotel letter, obfuscating the fact that the corporation could not authenticate his claims.
Should these factors determine Sinclair’s credibility?
We’ll let our readers be the judge.

The first document Larry published to back up his claim was a summary statement from Choice Rewards.

* the dates of hotel stays listed (ranging from August -Nov. 1999) do not match the account summary period that appears on the statement (October 1999 – December 1999)
* it shows him checking out on Nov 6 1999 – -so does NOT include the dates he LATER claimed were the dates he met Obama – -so he said he extended his stay to add those dates. BUT this Choice Rewards statement says it is for the period ending `12/31/1999. IF he had really extended his stay it should have included those dates and points from early November.
* The dates of hotel stays listed on the Choice Rewards statement are out of order which seems odd.
LSs stories about dates and use of the hotel statement
When LS first went public with his story, he initially gave a range of dates and said the 2 incidents were 2 days apart. I seem to recall that he at some point mentioned the 4th? (I think he was making an issue over Obama having been absent from the State Senate on personal business on the 4th November 1999.)
When he made those claims, he faked up his Choice Rewards statement but did not do a very clever job of it, or he would have at least made the period covered by the statement match the dates on the statement! Because of the dates ALSO being out of order on the statement, it is possible that he faked the numbers there and he may not have stayed in Gurnee, IL in NOvember 1999 but earlier that year.
Then perhaps LS realized that if Obama had said he was absent from the Legislature on the 4th for personal business he might still have some proof of where he was for that personal business. Ruh-roh! Larry figured Obama might be less likely to have an alibi on a weekend. SO he started saying the sex & drug parties happened on Sat. the 6th and Sun. the 7th. (In order to put them both on a weekend, he also had to change his story to say Obama came to his hotel the next day, not two days later. ) ….and that mean he needed ANOTHER hotel document to show the extra days.

Having published a version of a Choice Rewards statement that did NOT include the dates he was wanting to claim, he had to come up with another document to make it look like he had extended the stay for 2 more days. He obtained such a paper from the hotel chain’s legal department, and when he put it online he blacked out a line in the document stating that it was personal info. However he did such a lame job of blacking it out that it was legible when enlarged. The blacked out info was the disclaimer “While I cannot authenticate any information you currently have in your possession,â€
Why Second Hotel Doc (letter) means NOTHING
Mike on BHDC found out that records at Choice Intl. are only kept three years. Anything older, they would just be generating a statement BASED ON what the CUSTOMER (that’s LARRY the CRIMINAL) TOLD THEM. Which is why they “cannot authenticate any informationâ€
If this is true (which would be easy for any authorities to find out from Choice other words the “proof†Larry was in the Chicago area on the 6th-7th, 1999 rests on nothing but Larry’s word.
CREDIT CARD RECORDS FOR HOTEL???
If properly corroborated by the credit card company, the receipt for his hotel stay could help to establish his check out date and possibly even his personal presence. At the beginning of this whole scam he was saying he had sent for the credit card records to verify information. Whatever happened to that??? On the Opie and Anthony show he is STILL saying he has been trying to get his credit card records. Perhaps this is the “corroboration†he is promising which would show that he paid for the room using his credit card. Of course he might have hired the room for his godson to party as is not uncommon for graduations. But if it has LSs signature a handwriting expert could analyze that.
I would be interested to see the credit card receipt but would not automatically trust any photocopied (possibly photoshopped) document from Larry. I would want an affidavit from someone at the Credit Card company about what is actually shown in their records.
That could help to prove he was actually in Chicago on the dates he claims.
Of course it would not prove he ever met Obama.”
I would like to note that I contacted the Credit Card Company in question asking only a general question about how long they keep records. I was told by a supervisor (who I will not name) that they only maintain them for five years. Larry will never get any proof from his credit card company.

Hi LBG, This is Aliénor who wrote on The MItch and Nan Show blog the analysis of Larry’s hotel records that Jack Black has kindly shared above. Sorry for a few typos in it, and in the paragraph before the Credit card part, the words “other words” should be omitted.
These hotel documents looked so fishy that I could not believe that some gullible people were writing things like “I wasn’t sure before but now I totally believe Larry!” just because they saw some fake-ass statement with internal contradictions and a letter that “could not authenticate any information”. Larry’s blog is a perfect study of how people’s political opinions or racial prejudice render them incapable of assessing claims made by strangers on the Internet. When people WANT so badly for something to be true because it fits in with their preconceived notions,. they are particularly easy to deceive.
When I first heard Larry Sinclair’s story, I thought there was just a chance it MIGHT be true – - even though it didn’t seem likely that a politician in the middle of a tough Congressional campaign would get a call from some limo driver acquaintance and go dashing (about 120 blocks through city traffic, if it was from his own South Side neighborhood to the area of the bar Larry mentioned) to do illegal drugs and have gay sex with an unattractive stranger in a limo, with another witness present….. and then the next day would drive all the way up to a hotel near the Wisconsin border for a repeat. And the more Larry talked the less credible he seemed – - his different stories about his contact with the driver and when he would come forward, his giving the driver’s name on You Tube comments and then denying he had done so., etc., his claims of having “aster’s and lwa degrees”, his saying he had revealed everything about his criminal history- until others revealed more of it; his making threats of physical violence or death…. AND of cou rse his begging for money and suing private citizens for a million dollars each for writing against him online.
And when in mid March Larry added to his going-nowhere-fast story a new astounding claim of having had multiple calls from Donald Young last year before Young’s murder, saying Young had called in response to Larry’s phone calls to the Obama campaign, it completely showed Larry up for a liar, totally contradicting his earlier statements where he made it very clear he had received no reponse from the Obama campaign. That desperate embellishment lost him the few people with any intelligence who had still been supporting him.
This whole conspiracy theory that all of the media has been conspiring to suppress this story is just ridiculous considering the other media coverage about Obama – -even outrageous stories like Fox falsely reporting that his co-ed secular public elementary school in Indonesia was a “radical Islamic madrassa”! That made it very hard for me to believe that IF there were any evidence at all for Larry’s story , ALL the major media would conspire to suppress it.! Larry had a chance to get his story into the MSM months ago when he was interviewed and had a chance share his “proof” with John Crewdson of the Chicago Tribune. But there was no proof. Crewdson later said that the Trib WOULD have published the story IF it had been confirmed. And Larry published emails between him and Crewdson in which it was clear that Crewdson had never talked to the driver – - that same driver Larry claimed he was in weekly contact with.
I just wanted to say that you at DBKP have done a great job in your investigations and exposure of this con man Mr. Sinclair. It is great that it is coming from a conservative site that is just as offended as any supporters of Senator Obama at seeing a sleazy career criminal –with a history of ripping people off most of his life and currently Wanted on a felony warrant – - going around slandering public officials, conning people into sending him their hard-earned money, raising all this money online while collecting disability pretending he is incapable of working, AND suing ordinary citizens for writing about him (and if it truly wasn’t about the money as he claimed, he would have just asked those 3 bloggers to publicly retract the statements… there was no need to sue them for a million dollars each.
But obviously it IS about the money with Sinclair – - that AND the attention and sensation he so desperately craves.

Kennedy is starting to release some rulings, none of which have favored papatard. I don’t know enough to go into it but I do know that the words “plaintiff” and “denied” don’t spell victory.
And, after christ know how many months, Citibank STILL won’t get him his receipts. Or is that what he’s going to present on Wednesday? A lot of receipts. From Chicago. For a limo. And drinks. “So ask yourself – did he drink a bottle of Grey Goose by HIMSELF or did he drink a bottle of Grey Goose with Barack Obama? I think looking at the receipts should clear up that question.”
I don’t have any illusions that this will end any time soon. This will be Obama’s Arkansas Project.
