Jeanette Jenkins, Queen Latifah: Celebrity Gay Marriage Announced
It didn’t take long for the California Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Golden State’s ban on gay marriage to alter the celebrity matrimonial landscape.
According to this week’s edition of the National Enquirer, Queen Latifah plans to marry her partner of five years, personal trainer Jeannette Jenkins.
Queen Latifah has been very tight-lipped about her relationship with Jenkins, and told Ebony magazine in 2007 that she would not comment on the rumor that Jenkins was her girlfriend. She didn’t deny it, she was just annoyed that she was asked.
“No comment on that at all. I’m done commenting on all that … It’s ridiculous, I know me and that’s all I need to know.
“And if the readers don’t know me, then that’s one part they aren’t going to get to know. Those are my people but they don’t sleep with me,” she says in a very even tone that is very consistent with her relaxed mood. “It feels so invasive. It’s the one thing I don’t think people need to know about.”
According to the Enquirer, the couple are “planning an intimate ceremony with close famiy and friends.” They are also reportedly interested in adopting an American baby.
Naturally.
At least they bucked one trend: they didn’t opt for a Third-world baby.

I am just really sad that Queen Latifah is gay. I just do not feel comfortable about using her sponsored brands – Covergirl “is the Gay Girl” lip stick – Walmart is the gay store and of course Jenny Craig will be full of gay people in there class so I have just had to close my eyes to anything she promotes just because she is no longer a women “A She-man does not relate to me at all” and I would let my husband recommend a lipstick. I know this may seem mean but I am just saying after all these years of being straight – To just become another Ellen. I’m Not A Man so I will never use or buy anything that a man recommends.

You are correct to say that those who believe that Homosexuality is a normal behavior are always trying to FORCE those of us who do not agree to accept their views. Homosexuality and EVEN fornication among heterosexuals is wrong. If you choose that lifestyle it is your own choosing. However, do not expect us to agree with your lifestyle or your views.
Over the years, I have come to realize that those who support the gay lifestyle do not want those of us who oppose homosexuality to accept them for who they are. It goes much deeper than that. They rather want us to CHANGE OUR VIEWS ALL TOGETHER and accept their views. I say NO WAY! The choice is yours but the job of warning of the consequences of those choices are all of ours. We ARE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS KEEPERS! Fornication with the opposite sex and Homosexuality in every respect is wrong and against the nature of God and all that is Godly.
So, the poster is correct in choosing not to argue with you. There will be a day when we will all stand before the one TRUE JUDGE AND GOD. I assure you that His presence and Holiness will be so AWESOME that we dare not whisper ONE WORD of argument. It will be then that many will seek to throw themselves on the mercy of His most HOLY COURT. Unfortunately, the day in which to make a plea deal through the blood of Jesus Christ will be long gone. So, while we have a chance, let us ALL CONFESS our sins and pray for strength to overcome the many temptations in life and hope for GRACE in the day of judgment.

Ok Queen Latifah has been gay for a long ass time. We use to see her in the lesbian bars and clubs in NYC back in the day (late eighties early 90’s).She hit on my girlfriend a bunch of times. Use to see her in the club and one night tried really hard to take my gf home but her then girlfriend at the time had to cut in and stop Ms,. Owens. I just want Latifah to be happy and proud of who she is and stop thinking that she will lose her fan base, or movie scripts sent her way if she were to truly be who she is.

I know for sure that there are no exceptions to the bible people are not supposed live by their own FOOLISH understandings. It is ACCEPT… except is when you are excluding something or someone. And just so you don’t get it twisted…homosexuality has been around since the beginning of time and the Bible was written by men. So it is reasonable for those of us who are intelligent and discerning to understand that what makes sense is that we see the greatness, the humanity, the contributions, and the validity of those who are gay. They are everywhere and not necessarily weak as you assume. In fact, they have to be stronger than those of us who are accepted for being straight without question.
The Bible seems to really dumb most people down, and I have a higher power whom I refer to as God, and God made all of us.

Queen being gay does not affect me at all. But although I’m not a Christian, I understand what bible girl says when she says that only Christians will go to heaven. See, that is what every religion teaches, if you belong to the religion that you follow then you go to heaven, otherwise you don’t. I’m a Muslim, and that is what Islam teaches me too, and I expect a Christian to say that Muslims will go to hell, and nothing more. If a Christian says that you don’t have to be a Christian to go to heaven, then he/she is contradicting with his/her faith; and same goes for a Muslim and I’m pretty sure a Jew. There is no point of a religion if it teaches that anyone can go to heaven regardless of what religion they belong to. I believe everyone is born Muslim, and I expect a gay person to disagree with that, because I disagree with him/her when he/she says that people are either born gay or straight or bi or whatever. I believe that everyone is born Muslim, and after that they’re just male or females with the exception of the hermaphrodites. With that said, I do not agree with calling anyone by derogatory terms like Aaron Collin used up there in the comments. No one has a right to judge anyone and refer to them by such disrespectful names.

In a way i do understand some of JyMom’s point. Now, I feel like I couldn’t gush over hot guys with queen latifah. I think it would be strange being around her. I used to relate to her so well because she was a women who was beautiful, in charge, not a super model size and she could keep her man but now my view of her has changed. In the last commercial I saw her in she acted a tad masculine, though I don’t mean that in a way to insult lesbians. When my daughter told me she was bi, it didn’t make much difference in my relationship with her. She was still the same person. It’s funny how, online, guys will comment on Hillary’s legs, etc., when they don’t have the slightest chance of even meeting her. It’s turning another person into an object. Homosexuality is a sin just like fornication, stealing, adultery, killing – just to name a few. If you agree will homosexuality and think that it is okay, then all other sins should be okay with you, right? If you are strong in your religion and you know the truth then you know that there is not room for argument and questions that make you retract. I mean what is wrong is wrong. What people need to realize is that they should not try to make acceptions against the Bible because they are living by a standard. They need to realize the longer they refuse to accept the truth the worse it gets for them. I mean I feel bad that they dont want to accept it but they arent spiritually ready and as christians we can only pray for them. We can only hope and pray that they wont be blinded and they will awakwen and open their eyes.
This makes me think about the people who think that they are ahead because they have the knowledge that won’t be useful when Jesus comes back to earth…. I mean with the mental knowledge they have and then the people of God gone oneday… Who is there left to teach with that type of knowledge? Because they won’t have spiritual knoweldge basically they will be just amongst there own kind. Yes, God gave you the knowledge and thats why adam and eve felt so wrong because they felt convicted because they were decieved. They fell into the trick of the devil. No one is condemning Queen Latifah and that other lady…. but for people to say that is right is sad. It has been scientifically proven that someone can stop being homosexual or whatever. So i mean if it is worth that to someone it is possibly and im sure it is even if you think your happy. And you have to get right with the Lord. The hardest path is the one without a rigidly defined religion. You basically have to deal with life on the fly without getting your ideas out of an ancient book that was written by men and no doubt flawed even if there is a God. So I think God would want has to take the hard path. If you don’t care for gay people its not like someone is forcing you to hang out with them. Just let people be themselves. The hard path means challenging your core beliefs, being tolerant of other people and letting the lead there lives without judgement. That’s not an easy task. We are human and therefor flawed. Being non-judgemental and helping others is the true essence of being a true Christian.
Judge not lest yee be judged. There’s a whole lot of judging going on by people when its not their place to judge.
And I don’t understand why people freak out and think everyone is turning gay or something. There were gay people way back and they were almost always closeted. Be intolerant of gays, lesbians, etc is like racism. You just can’t see that color you don’t like unless someone tells you. Gay are no the most trodden on minority with states passing laws striping them of rights to marriages. I’m not for gay marriage but I would NOT try and put a stop to it. Just because I’m uncomfortable with it doesn’t mean its wrong so I voted against California’s ban I gay marriage which sadly passed. Why can’t people see that people are paranoid of gays being considered equals. There is a possible evolutionary advantage to having some gays. In the past if they didn’t force themselves to have children, they could help take care of there families children. In some cultures to this day they are considered shamans. They’ve fulfilled roles that others were to busy for in the past and help in their own way.
I apologize if I’ve come across as judgemental because that goes against my belief of “Judge not lest yee be judged”.

This has nothing to do at all with religion, it is her personal choice who she sleeps with an i may not agree with it but it is up to her. What i dont understand is why everyone has to bring religion into it? Were talking about her sexual orientation not her religious views. Come on you all should be smart enough to see that. Im sure there are lots of christians who do worse things than just being gay. I am Catholic Christian, go to church every Sunday, and went to a Catholic School from kindergarden through twelfth grade, and proceeded to go to a prestigious university. Ok I’ll be plain I’m LDS or more commonly known as Mormon. My religion states that a marriage is only suppose to be between a man and a women. BUT!!!! I don’t care, there was a boy cheerleader at my school and yes he was gay but strangely enough it was me and some other members of my ward that were kind to him out of all the people on our bus.(he was on the bus next to ours.) It is their choice if they want to be gay or straight, and if they’re happy the way they are leave them be!
