Jeanette Jenkins, Queen Latifah: Celebrity Gay Marriage Announced
It didn’t take long for the California Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Golden State’s ban on gay marriage to alter the celebrity matrimonial landscape.
According to this week’s edition of the National Enquirer, Queen Latifah plans to marry her partner of five years, personal trainer Jeannette Jenkins.
Queen Latifah has been very tight-lipped about her relationship with Jenkins, and told Ebony magazine in 2007 that she would not comment on the rumor that Jenkins was her girlfriend. She didn’t deny it, she was just annoyed that she was asked.
“No comment on that at all. I’m done commenting on all that … It’s ridiculous, I know me and that’s all I need to know.
“And if the readers don’t know me, then that’s one part they aren’t going to get to know. Those are my people but they don’t sleep with me,†she says in a very even tone that is very consistent with her relaxed mood. “It feels so invasive. It’s the one thing I don’t think people need to know about.â€
According to the Enquirer, the couple are “planning an intimate ceremony with close famiy and friends.” They are also reportedly interested in adopting an American baby.
Naturally.
At least they bucked one trend: they didn’t opt for a Third-world baby.

If you are strong in your religion and you know the truth then you know that there is not room for argument and questions that make you retract. I mean what is wrong is wrong. What people need to realize is that they should not try to make acceptions against the Bible because they are living by a standard. They need to realize the longer they refuse to accept the truth the worse it gets for them. I mean I feel bad that they dont want to accept it but they arent spiritually ready and as christians we can only pray for them. Yes, God gave you the knowledge and thats why adam and eve felt so wrong because they felt convicted because they were decieved. They fell into the trick of the devil. No one is condemning Queen Latifah and that other lady…. but for people to say that is right is sad. It has been scientifically proven that someone can stop being homosexual or whatever. So i mean if it is worth that to someone it is possibly and im sure it is even if you think your happy. And you have to get right with the Lord. And forgive yourself and ask him for forgiveness and ask for his help.

The hardest path is the one without a rigidly defined religion. You basically have to deal with life on the fly without getting your ideas out of an ancient book that was written by men and no doubt flawed even if there is a God. So I think God would want has to take the hard path. If you don’t care for gay people its not like someone is forcing you to hang out with them. Just let people be themselves. The hard path means challenging your core beliefs, being tolerant of other people and letting the lead there lives without judgement. That’s not an easy task. We are human and therefor flawed. Being non-judgemental and helping others is the true essence of being a true Christian.
Judge not lest yee be judged. There’s a whole lot of judging going on by people when its not their place to judge.
And I don’t understand why people freak out and think everyone is turning gay or something. There were gay people way back and they were almost always closeted. Be intolerant of gays, lesbians, etc is like racism. You just can’t see that color you don’t like unless someone tells you. Gay are no the most trodden on minority with states passing laws striping them of rights to marriages. I’m not for gay marriage but I would NOT try and put a stop to it. Just because I’m uncomfortable with it doesn’t mean its wrong so I voted against California’s ban I gay marriage which sadly passed. Why can’t people see that people are paranoid of gays being considered equals. There is a possible evolutionary advantage to having some gays. In the past if they didn’t force themselves to have children, they could help take care of there families children. In some cultures to this day they are considered shamans. They’ve fulfilled roles that others were to busy for in the past and help in their own way.
I apologize if I’ve come across as judgemental because that goes against my belief of “Judge not lest yee be judged”.

Christ proclaimed Himself as a righteous judge, and when you look into His teachings, He is constantly judging others according to a standard of living, His righteous standard of perfectness. He taught that we should not make “unrighteous judgements.” This in itself is a hard statement to consider. If a person claims he or she is making a righteous judgement, they will be persecuted for being “holier than thou” If we do not as desciples strive with our hearts to live after Christ and watch and pray to judge as He judged, then there can be no argument, for Christ said, ‘Follow thou me.” We as His servants must learn to judge as He judged with love and compassion, because this is the real elements that move people to change.

This has nothing to do at all with religion, it is her personal choice who she sleeps with an i may not agree with it but it is up to her. So, I am really sick of reading all of these stupid remarks by people who obviously can’t separate their religion from their feelings. I am Catholic Christian, go to church every Sunday, and went to a Catholic School from kindergarden through twelfth grade, and proceeded to go to a prestigious university. Ok I’ll be plain I’m LDS or more commonly known as Mormon. My religion states that a marriage is only suppose to be between a man and a women. BUT!!!! I knew she was gay long time prior to the movie, “Set it Off”. She came to the Fox theater in Atlanta, Ga. back in the 90′s and I had the privilege of being backstage. The only thing that I do not like about people coming out is they seem to want to intentionally deceive the public. Then after they make their money, they say hay I am gay. If this is the life you wish to live you should be open about your decision. I personally do not believe in people being gay. I believe that it is an unnatural act. But it is your life and your choice. Would I support your movies and music, I do not know. I do believe everyone has a right to work. If you do not work you do not eat. Do I wish to look at a show with two males or two females being intimate, no. I just think as an actor or actress people should be open and upfront and let the public decide. Sometimes a persons personality outweighs a person personal preference. This goes with people who engage in natural behavior as well.
