Austrian Father Josef Fritzl Who Kept Sex-Slave Daughter: WWII, Sex Predator, and Love Letters
New details have emerged about the father who kept his daughter locked away in a cellar-dungeon for 24 years. Details which reveal a man whose early life was dominated by the ravages of World War II and a propensity for sex crimes and who has now attracted the attention of “lovestruck” female fans.
The story of 73-yr-old Austrian Josef Fritzl, the father who locked his own daughter away in a secret cellar prison for 24 years and bore him 7 children has gripped the world.
No one could fathom how a father could be so cruel and inhumane to not only imprison his own daughter beneath the family home but to also continuously rape her for a period of 24 years, to impregnate her with seven children and to act as an insane King Soloman, choosing three of the remaining six children to allow them to live upstairs with the family while the other three languished in Josef Fritzl’s homemade prison.
Three of the seven children were chosen by Fritzl to be deposited upstairs on the front doorstoop as toddlers with “notes” from their mother Elisabeth. The notes asked her mother and father to help raise the babies as she was “unable to”. One child, a boy, died shortly after birth. Fritzl is alleged to have acted as midwife in all seven births.
All this came to light when the oldest of the seven children, 19-yr-old Kristen, became desperately ill. Fritzl allowed the girl, who had never seen the light of day, to be brought to the local hospital where she lapsed into a coma. Doctors issued a plea to have the girl’s mother come to the hospital as the physicians were baffled by the girl’s illness and had also found a note in one of her pockets from Elisabeth, begging the doctors to please help her daughter.
Doctors and the authorities were suspicious of Fritzl and his relationship to the desperately ill girl. For some reason Fritzl allowed Elisabeth to leave the cellar prison to go to the hospital. It was then that the story of Josef Fritzl’s 24 year reign of terror began to unfold and Fritzl was arrested. Fritzl remains under arrest at Austria’s Sankt Poelten prison.
Kristen has been kept in an artificially induced coma since she was brought to the hospital on April 19. Doctors have decided that her condition has improved enough to allow them to begin the “wake-up” process. The doctors are unable to estimate when Kristen will fully emerge from her artificially drug induced “sleep”. Kristen’s mother Elisabeth is said to be undergoing psychiatric counseling.
Josef Fritzl’s past, of growing up during World War II without a father and as a young man who was a sexual predator in the 1960′s have come to light.
Friztl was 10 years old at the end of the World War II. His mother was known as being somewhat “mysterious”. She was remembered as always using her hands to protect her eyes from the sunlight. His mother could have suffered from photophobia, a sensitivity to light. A condition known as vernal conjunctivitis, which is thought to be caused by allergic reactions, may have been the cause.
The condition is characterized by itchy, watery eyes. Affected people may experience burning and discomfort when they are in bright light (photophobia). The underside of the eyelids may become roughened and covered with bumps and a whitish mucus, giving them a cobblestone appearance. Tissue around the cornea where the white of the eye and the cornea meet (limbus) may become roughened and inflamed. If this tissue extends onto the cornea, it may cause scarring and decreased vision. By the end of World War II Fritzl’s home town of Amstetten was destroyed by Allied bombers and also occupied by the Russian Army. Nearby were two sub-camps of the infamous German concentration camp, Mauthausen-Gusen, where an estimated 320,000 people perished. Source – Wiki
Friztl’s father deserted his mother shortly after his birth. Fritzl was incarcerated in the 60′s for purportedly raping a woman. He also had a reputation as an exhibitionist but all details of his previous crimes and incarceration were purged from the criminal court system after a period of 15 years. By 1969 Fritzl had begun working in the building material industry, constructing concrete pipe machinery. Fritzl married his wife Rosemarie, together they had 7 children, one of them Elisabeth, the daughter he drugged then locked up in the basement in 1984. He worked as an electrical engineer and by 1993 had bought a restaurant in a nearby town. He was able to parlay real estate investments into a successful career.
Now Fritlz sits in a cell at Austria’s Sankt Poelten Prison where he’s become something of a magnet for love letters from women who find him attractive. He’s also received his fair share of hate mail but we imagined the sting has been somewhat alleviated by his new “fan club”. Women write that they believe he locked his daughter away “for her own good” and to “keep her away from drugs”. (His excuse) We wonder how these women can ignore the byproducts of Josef’s scheme to “save” his daughter, the six children bore by Elisabeth. Elisabeth claims her father viciously raped her, Fritzl’s attorney claims that his client “never raped” his daughter and that Fritzl “worries” about his family now that he’s locked away in prison.
Fritzl has yet to be officially charged by the Austrian authorities. The debate so far seems to be not that he’s going to get to skip a prison sentence but for how long he will have to serve time. Being that there are men in their late 80′s and early 90′s incarcerated in the United States prisons for sex crimes committed in the recent past we believe Fritzl will always be a danger to others. We also believe that while no amount of prison time will mitigate the full weight of Fritzl’s heinous actions, Fritzl should spend the remainder of his days locked away as he locked his own daughter away beneath the floors of the Fritzl family compound.
