Urineluck is outta luck.

The makers of Urineluck are out of luck as Feds have raided Spectrum Labs in Newport, Kentucky and Ohio while a Carolina Senator “pushes” a bill to require all persons running for federal office be “drug tested”.

Urine Luck is a chemical solution, which destroys nicotine metabolites in the urine to pass a pre-employment nicotine test. Current Urine Luck formulas (6.8 and above) are completely undetectable. The product consists of two tiny vials about the size of a pinkie finger. Pour both vials directly into the urine sample prior to submitting the sample for pre-employment nicotine testing. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, in an attempt to crack down on companies that sell products that “mask” drug tests, Federal Agents raided two locations in Kentucky and Ohio.

Spectrum Labs, founded by J. Matthew Stevens in 1992 and located in Cincinnati and Newport, Kentucky, claims its product Urineluck can mask the presence of pot in dope smokers from drug tests. He also claims Urineluck can mask other substances such as cocaine, opiates, and amphetamines.

The Federal Government, aka the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, cites Urineluck’s popularity as being the prime reason the Feds are developing other types of drug tests which do not use urine.

There are currently five types of drug tests: urine, hair, saliva, blood, and sweat.

Urine tests are the least expensive but intrusive.

Saliva tests are also inexpensive, slightly intrusive, and are becoming more common. They can detect use for a few days whereas urine tests can detect up to a past week. They can also detect more recent use than other tests.

Hair tests are more expensive than urine or saliva and can detect use over a longer period of time, up to 90 days.

Sweat (Patch) tests are relatively intrusive method of testing because they have to worn for an extended period of time. The Sweat patches have yet to become a common way of testing for drugs and are still considered controversial in terms of accuracy.

Blood tests are the most expensive type of drug test but also the most accurate and considered the most intrusive.

Ninety percent of employers who implement drug testing use the urine test. One way to “beat” the urine test is/was to add chemicals such as Urineluck, Whizzies, and Klear which contain oxidizing agents. Other non-oxidizing adulterants such as UrineAid and Clear Choice change the PH of a urine sample. Surfactants or soaps like Mary Jane’s Super Clean trap fatty pot metabolites making them invisible.

In the past some used common household chemicals such as denture tablets, eyedrops, or bleach to fool drug tests.

The Whizznator substitutes clean urine via a fake penis.

The WHIZZINATOR is an easy to conceal, easy to use urinating device with a very realistic prosthetic penis. It has been extensively tested and proven to work under real-life conditions! And our quality production and materials assures you that the WHIZZINATOR will let it flow, again and again, anytime, anywhere you need it!

Carolina State Senator Republican Harvey Peeler introduced a bill in February 2008 that would mandate all persons seeking a Federal office be required to pass a drug test.

“The reason I introduced this bill was in response to my constituents’ outcry over our state treasurer and his situation,” said Peeler, R-Gaffney, who took a drug test himself to get a commercial drivers’ license. “It just makes sense to me that elected officials must first pass the drug test.”

We’re not sure how a state government, in this instance, Carolina, can mandate anything on the Federal level. Peeler’s bill was in response to a former state treasurer admitting cocaine use.

As for what Federal laws the drug masking companies have violated we could only find reference to one: products determined to be “drug paraphernalia”.
