Yes, recessions suck. They suck to the max when the government tries to “fix” the problem.

Which is why they are sucking and will continue to suck until this administration discovers that the only jobs that government creates are–government jobs!

Which are paid for by taking money from people who work hard every day doing real work.

Since you obviously have a economic crystal ball, I hope you put back some of the millions you made short-selling stocks when this article was written last summer.

If the government leaves the economy alone, it will recover as it always does after going through the “down” part of the cycle.

Otherwise, August 2009 might be remembered fondly as “great month!” in the future.

What a great post!! Thanks for bringing a much needed breath of fresh air to all the “woe is me” crap we hear in the media. It seems that people want to believe the worst when it comes to our economy and where we’re going and losing sight of where we’ve been. Wish there were more like you, with your positive attitude about America and Americans. Unfortunately, talking about the economy on a positive note is like denying “GLOBAL WARMING”. However, I, for one, tend to share your optimism as I am an American and I KNOW what we can do. I know also, like you, that this is a temporary situation and that the markets will adjust as they always do.
