D.C. Madam Suicide and Astrology: Was Death Written in the Stars?
Death of the D. C. Madam by Beth Turnage of Astrology Explored
Deborah Jean Palfrey, the D. C. Madam, whose revelations led to the resignation of one prominent Washington official was found dead on May 1, 2008, at her mother’s Tarpon Springs Florida home. Recently convicted of racketeering and money laundering with a potential sentence of four to six years, Palfrey reported said that she “rather die than to go to prison again” and that “I’m sure as heck not going to federal prison . . . because I’m shy about bringing in the deputy secretary of whatever.”
Exactly a year previous she had released phone records which revealed Deputy Secretary of State Randall Tobias and Louisiana State Senator David Vitter, among others, were clients of Ms. Palfrey’s services. But as a commenter on the astrology blog ElsaElsa said about Washington culture “Nice girls don’t tell.”
Conspiracy theorists are having a field day with Ms. Palfrey’s death, calling it a murder, while the local authorities are labeling it an apparent suicide.
What does astrology say about the D. C. Madam’s death? Deborah Jean Palfrey was born March 18, 1956, 11:55 AM 40N09 79W59. We know her birth time from one of her astrologers, who posted it.
Palfrey had her ascendant in Cancer, tenth house Sun in Pisces, a twelfth house moon in her Venus in Taurus, Mars in Capricorn, her Mercury in Pisces, Saturn, Sagittarius, Chiron in Aquarius, Uranus late degrees Cancer, Neptune in late degrees Libra and Pluto sitting next to Jupiter in Leo. Overall and as a signature of her chart, Deborah Jean lived very much in a world of her own making. She failed over and over again to see how her actions could have adverse consequences. She truly did not believe her business was in any sense “wrong” or did not understand why she should be punished for it. She thought anything she suffered was because of society’s inability to understand her, not the other way around
Her mother says that Deborah was not depressed, and this was the case. There are no classic indications such as Saturn square or opposite the moon to indicate depression.
With Chiron in Aquarius in the eighth house, which rules death and sex, her personal opinions about sex were far from main stream. She just thought of sex as another way to have fun. Current social mores, in her opinion, were repressive and obsolete. With Leo on the second house, she felt she could make money anyway that she felt fit. In other words, regular rules did not apply to her. Any attempt to make her conform was society’s way to punish her for being different.
As far as her death, let us look at traditional indications of death in a chart.
Raphael’s Medical Astrology says:
Violent deaths. Observe the hyleg [i.e. the most prominent planet of the chart. For Palfrey it is her Sun in the tenth house--BT], eighth house and planet or planets therein, but note whether Uranus, Mars or Saturn be elevated above the hyleg, and throw evil aspects thereto. . .Saturn . . . causes death by suffocation, strangling or by hanging (italics mine)
Aquarius sits on the doorway of her eighth house, making Uranus the planet that would rule her death. Uranus in the sky by transit was sitting on the top of her Sun. Mars moving in the sky was sitting on her natal Uranus and was in challenge aspect to transiting Uranus sitting on her Sun. Transiting Saturn was trining her Arabic Part of Suicide at 3 degrees Taurus. This Part of Suicide is nestled in between transiting Venus, the transiting Sun in Taurus and her natal Venus.
Venus may seem like an odd indication of trouble. However, Venus’ previous incarnations as a goddess included that of the sacred whore. Far from being revered in our society, the prostitute is considered the lowest element of society. Not only do “nice” girls don’t tell, they don’t charge for sexual services either. In the dawn of civilization, the temple prostitute was considered the servant of the Goddess, and time spent with one was spending time with the goddess herself. However, when the tide of society turned from matriarchial to patriarchal, feminine power was shattered and the power of the goddess diminished. Women, after thousands of years of repression, are only now within the last century reclaiming our sexual and reproductive rights. Because we have not fully done so we still sit on the fence as to what nice girls do and what they don’t. We as a society despise women who charge for sexual services.
A Vedic astrologer had this to say about Venus:
Venus causes death due to anemia, sexual diseases, high fever, urinary afflictions, diseases in generative organs, due to prostitution (italics mine) and due to treachery of trusted friends.
In Palfrey’s chart, the natal Venus, Part of Suicide, and transiting Venus make an easy energetic connection her planet of death and transformation, Pluto and also of transiting Pluto. Saturn, making a connection to her Natal Pluto indicates hanging as the mode of death. It is the symbol of the death of the prostitute.Deborah Jean Palfry committed suicide not because she was depressed about her life and saw no solutions. She killed herself because she didn’t want to face the consequences of her actions. She wanted the “easy” way out.

I’m a former member of Jeane’s legal team. This is a very interesting take since Jeane was very much involved in reading her charts, she was a very avid astrologist. Interestingly, I think she connected me with one of her personal astrologists who did her charts, someone claiming to be a Catholic Missionary in China.
It was under a pseudonym. I might add that their readings were wrong about her, they predicted exoneration. They were obviously wrong on that one.
There is a slight possibility that it was Jeane writing me, it was an encrypted e-mail account, a third party one. I think the conclusions here are valid, it nails her psychology regarding her case. She should have just served the time, it wasn’t 20 years, after all.

Your description of the astrologers who counseled Ms. Palfrey follows closely information that was posted on another blog, so in my opinion is that it was not Debra Jean who wrote you.

Palfrey had 8th house in Aquarius; ruler is Uranus in the 1st.
I have a book where ruler of 8th in the 1st (with just one hard aspect) means that person is going to commit suicide.
Here is all clear, why she has done it.
