Underlying the points of this article is an all too familiar idea that transgenderism is somehow a morale issue. Notice how the writer suggests that the next step beyond allowing a transgender student is allowing a bestial student.

Transgenders do not DECIDE to be different. We are not being rebellious. We have a birth defect. We are born with a perfectly normal body of one sex but a perfectly normal brain of the other sex. Transgendered individuals are simply trying to deal with the psychic distress that this mismatch causes.

For someone to say that this is wrong or “creepy” is tantamount to throwing rocks at a person in a wheelchair.

Gender is so fundamental to a person’s identity that the idea that children could not be able to tell whether they were transgender is like saying that they would not be able to tell that an arm was missing.

We live in a new world. I see absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t teach children tolerance and acceptance of our varying differences. I’m sure there was no mention of sexual preference/orientation with 8-year-old’s…

Interesting: teachers and principals usually get upset when things intrude on class time, and take away from curriculum. I guess that is only when guest speakers try to talk about things that ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE! This is so sad that a school is supporting the corruption of our youth at such a young age. And not just supporting it, but leading the way! Are they still teaching spelling and arithmetic to 8 and 9 year olds? Isn’t regular school work confusing enough for them!?
