Austrian Father Forced Sex-Slave Daughter to Build Own Prison

More details have emerged in the horrific story of the Austrian man who kept his daughter locked up as a sex-slave for 24 yrs, how she unwittingly helped her father to build the prison of horror that her father sentenced her to. It’s also been revealed that some of the children she bore her father were forced to watch him rape her “numerous” times.

The story of Josef Fritzl and his daughter Elisabeth has confounded people across the globe. How Josef Fritzl was able to construct a prison beneath his home, how “no one”, not even Fritzl’s wife nor numerous tenants who rented flats in their building suspected something was amiss.

Fritzl’s plans to change the cellar were approved by the city of Amstetten in 1978. According to the authorities Elisabeth, then a young teenage girl, helped her father build the secret prison she would spend 24 years and bear seven children that were her father’s.

Fritzl received a government grant to build the block of secret rooms, a grant that was supposed to be used to build nuclear fallout shelters. The rooms were approved by a visual inspection the year before Elisabeth, at age 19, was drugged, handcuffed, then locked inside the cellar-prison by her father.

Elisabeth revealed her father began raping her at age 11. When the girl turned 19 her father locked her away. Police learned that for the first 9 months her father locked her up like a dog on a chain with a collar. She was only released to use the bathroom.

For the first nine years there was only one room in the secret cellar-prison. Fritzl continued to rape his daughter, even when she bore him children and they were forced to watch.

It was after Elisabeth’s oldest daughter, 19-yr.-old Kerstin, who suffered from epilepsy from birth, became critically ill that forced enough cracks in Fritzl’s armor to gain Elisabeth and her children’s release.

Elisabeth bore Fritzl seven children, ages 19, 18, 16, 14, 12, and five. One child died after birth, a baby boy, his body allegedly thrown into a furnace. After Kerstin became gravely ill, Fritzl allowed Elisabeth to help carry her daughter upstairs and out to Frizl’s car. She was then forced back into the family dungeon.

Fritzl purportedly called emergency services for the critically ill Kerstin leaving a message that she was “his niece”. Elisabeth had secreted a note on Kerstin which doctors at the hospital read:

“Wednesday, I gave her aspirin and cough medicine for the condition. Thursday, the cough worsened. Friday, the coughing gets even worse. She has been biting her lip as well as her tongue. Please, please help her! Kerstin is really terrified of other people, she was never in a hospital. If there are any problems please ask my father for help, he is the only person that she knows.”

Amazingly Fritzl had allowed the captives in his cellar the “luxury” of a television and radio even though they had no windows. Three of the children were forced to remain below, three others were chosen by Fritzl to leave the dungeon as babies and were raised by him and his wife. She believed the children were left on the doorstoop by Elisabeth as Fritzl had his daughter write a note asking her parents to take her children in.

When the doctors at the hospital televised a plea for the mother of Kerstin to please come forward to answer questions about her Elisabeth saw them on her cellar-prison television supplied by Fritzl. Fritzl allowed Elisabeth to journey to the hospital where they were detained by the police who had been suspicious of Fritzl since the very beginning when Kerstin was admitted to the hospital.

Elisabeth, after being given assurances she’d never have to see her father again, began to reveal the details of her years of horror, locked away in her own father’s makeshift prison, repeatedly raped and forced to endure six pregnancies and the separation of three of her children who were “chosen” by Fritzl to live upstairs in a halfway normal life.

Elisabeth has been reunited with her children while Kerstin remains in critical condition in the hospital. Fritzl has been under arrest since the trip where he took Elisabeth to see Kirsten. The police were the first ones to release Stefann and Felix from their prison home. Austrian authorities have not revealed what charges will be leveled at Fritzl.

Elisabeth’s children face years of therapy, the list is endless, the three who were forced to remain in the cellar-prison their whole life, 19-yr-old Kerstin, 18-year-old Stefann, and five-year-old Felix will have to cope with the fact that their siblings were allowed to live upstairs and live halfway normal lives, 16-yr-old Lisa, 15-yr-old Monika, and 12-yr-old Alex. How the two oldest, Kerstin and Stefann were forced to watch their mother be repeatedly raped by Fritzl until he built four more rooms. How their father is also their mother’s father and their lives will be subjects for books, tv, and movies.

Hopefully the children and Elisabeth will eventually be able to overcome the horrors they faced on a daily basis and Fritzl receives some type of punishment for his crimes, even though any punishment will be meager compared to the pain and suffering he inflicted on his own child and her children.
