"Unless you were black." ...and decided to stay on the couch, having a few beers and children out of wedlock waiting for the government to send the check.

To: unless you were black: It is called doing the work. It is called going the extra mile. It is called taking responsibility for your actions. It is called making people accountable and that includes oneself.

reagan truly was our last great leader ; all others have in some way either morally or legally violated the constitution. reagan restored the economy, healed americas image world wide(he is still refered to as the american miracle), cut taxes, limited government, and brought pride back to america. when i hear black people talk about their ancestors being oppressed i tell them my ancestors are jews. we went through more shit than anyone, so blacks need to get the hell over it ,damn!!!!!!!!!!

i cant wait until i run for president. hopefully obama hadnt destroyed us by then. i beleive strongly in eveything reagan said
to sum it all up "government is not the answer its the problem"

if people think the government should help them with everything then they need to read the constitution

Uh...O'Grady, you going to tell me black people have a better chance of attaining freedom and dignity on the individual level anywhere else? Let's ask history:

Jimi Hendrix, Toni Morrison, Walter Payton, Colin Powell, Maya Angelou, J.C. Watts, Sydney Portier, Tony Dorsett, Hank Aaron, Josephine Baker, Willie Brown, Eva Clayton, John Conyers, W.E. B. Dubois, Marcus Garvey, Alex Haley, Wilt Chamberlain, Billie Holiday, Zora Hurston, Quincy Jones, Jesse Jackson, B.B. King, Martin Luther King, Wilt Chamberlain, Condoleeza Rice, Derek Walcott, Langston Hughes...Oh...and, Barack Obama.

Unless you weren't paying attention.

My goodness we need another Ronald Reagan!

I feel very fortunate and proud to have been an American during his presidency.

Thanks Cuchieddie for the invite... I'll have to go to the Ronald Reagan museum some day out in LA.

God Bless the USA!

Um, just wondering... when did an ultra conservative pull a race card in this discussion?

The first to pull a race card was Sarah O'Grady. Everyone else has responded with great offense to her comment.

Think back with an open mind, and you will see that conservatives do not pull race cards; blacks do. Whites are far too afraid to mention race at all. We try to stay as far away from it as we can, because it can and will be used against us in every and any way possible.

In fact, it was even used against Michelle Obama! She was criticized for not wearing clothes that black women designed. My goodness, what does it matter? Maybe she wore what she liked. It was coincidence and not intention that none of her gowns were designed by black designers. She certainly didn't go against them on purpose. Heck, she's probably the most racist black woman I know of, and even she isn't safe from the criticisms of race...from her own people nonetheless!

I'm so sick of race being brought up at all. Why can't we see Barack Obama as our newest President and nothing more? Each time the fact that someone is black or white is pointed out, it takes us one step backward in the fight to eliminate racial divide and tension.

When Americans stop seeing color, we will eliminate racial divide, but not one minute before then.

Barack Obama WAS elected because of the sheer fact that he is a black man - that is a fact. Blacks came out in droves for the first time in their lives to vote, and many didn't have a clue where he stood on the issues.

So, this is where we are now. He is now our President (not my choice, and not because of color). Let's ALL pray to God that he finds the necessary strength, knowledge, diplomacy and fortitude that it will take to bring this great nation back together, and move us forward. We need a better tomorrow, and I hope he succeeds in bringing that to America. And folks, please, let's stop seeing him as our first black President, and just start seeing him as our 44th President. Let's also pray that he is our most successful President to date. We should always continue to hope that each new president is better than the last. Ronald Reagan was the last of the great Presidents, so far. I believe this is undeniably true; however, I also continue to hope for better each time we inaugurate a president...shouldn't we all?

Sarah, you wrote: Truth is a bitch, ain’t it?

Excuse me...did you say, "ain't it?", and also use an expletive while trying to make a point? How can you possibly have the nerve to call someone else an idiot? Ugh, Girl, go back to school and learn some grammar! Hey, and while you're at it, check out a history book or two.

I'm so sick of hearing about black oppression. What have YOU done personally to move your race forward? My guess...Nothing! Your improper usage of grammar and lack of eloquent speech is what will keep you down, not whitey!

It's all this "you owe me" attitude that will continue to divide races rather than bring them together. Enough, already! Please, for the love of mankind...just STOP!
