Man-made climate-changers (MMCC) aren’t going to let a little thing like falling temperatures upset their apocalyptic hopes for Mother Earth and the attendant dreams of more taxes, regulation and government control.
Even though global tempertures will drop slightly this year as a result of the cooling effects of the La Nina current in the Pacific, MMCCers are already spinning the bad news–for them–into more predictions of coming man-made doom.
The World Meteorological Organization’s secretary-general, Michel Jarraud, told the BBC it was likely that La Nina would continue into the summer.
This would mean global temperatures have not risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory.But experts say we are still clearly in a long-term warming trend – and they forecast a new record high temperature within five years.
The WMO points out that the decade from 1998 to 2007 was the warmest on record. Since the beginning of the 20th Century, the global average surface temperature has risen by 0.74C.
Researchers say the uncertainty in the observed value for any particular year is larger than these small temperature differences. What matters, they say, is the long-term upward trend.
So, let’s get this straight. When the temperature over 100 years raises less than a degree, the earth is headed for a disaster that only Al Gore and more government control can prevent.
But when the earth cools by the same amount in one year, it’s nothing?
You have to hand it to the MMCCers: can’t let a little science get into the way of a perfectly good hysteria.

And their information is a bit exaggerated. The Earth temp has increased by .6 C with a variable of .2C. and this is a bit deceiving as well. much of this increase was in the 1940′s.As for the hottest decade, it peaked in 1998,plateued, and then cooled slightly.now the importance of that is this: CO2 emissions increased significantly, and according to the meteorological model the Global Warmists use, the temperature should have risen. But it did not. Ergo, the model is wrong. CO2 is not the stalking horse it is made out to be.

I took some issue with the following quote:

That’s a little bit like saying the following: “It’s midnight now, and the temperature has dropped ten degrees in the last ten hours. Climate change is a hoax!”
Forgive my exaggerating your argument, but I hope I got my point across. The problem is that you’re comparing meteorology to climate, a jump that has spawned many an internet researcher to question global warming. Of course it’s not a big deal that the Earth cooled by some margin of a degree! That happens every summer, when a higher tree count in the Northern Hemisphere decreases CO2 levels and helps chill the globe a bit. Such abnormalities are what meteorologists study.
Long-term temperature differences, however, are a big deal; with all the abnormal highs and lows canceled out, climatologists are left with a reasonably good indicator of future trends. Right now, those trends are pointing to a warming Earth.

This is just babble unless you clearly define what you mean by these terms.
Isn’t the discussion about the GLOBAL AVERAGE temperature? Not the temperature in your backyard… it seems that the global average temperature trend is significant when it supports AGW but is just dismissed as ‘natural variability’ when it doesn’t.

I rest my case on the hacked CRU emails and the bogus NZ NIWA graph info–as well as the exposure of the hoax ‘hockey stick’ schtick.
It’s okay for the alarmists to anecdote-ize the evidence, but heresy for skeptics to do likewise?
Give me and my pocketbook a break.
