Yemen Playboy Says He’s Innocent in Norwegian Beauty’s Death

Yemen playboy, Farooq Abdulhak – son of one of Yemen’s richest businessmen, insists he’s innocent in the murder of Norwegian beauty, Martine Magnussen.
Farooq, safely ensconced in Yemen and out of the reach of the British authorities says he skipped out in his billionaire father’s private jet the day before the body of 21-year-old Martine Magnussen was found beneath some rubble in the same block of flats where Farooq had a rental.
Farooq, a business student known as “DP” or Dom Perignon to his friends, confirmed that he did leave the upscale London club Maddox Thursday night at 3 a.m. with Martine and took her to his flat but that she later left and, according to a friend of Farooq’s, a mysterious 3rd person is involved.
“They left the nightclub and went back to his home.
“But she left after that. He found out she was missing the next day.
“He panicked and called his father to get him out. Farooq says a third person was involved. His father has hired investigators to find out more.”
Farooq’s attorney, Mohammed Al-Bakwli, told the Mail that he and his client were frustrated that the British authorities hadn’t contacted his client.
“I wish they would contact us. It would be in the best interests of my client. Farooq is not hiding and he is not a fugitive.”

Martine had been reported missing by her friends after she failed to return home after a night of partying with friends at the exclusive club Maddox. Martine was seen leaving with a man friends described as Farooq in a taxi at 3 a.m..
After she failed to show up the next day her friends grew worried and contacted the police. When her body was found two days later several items of clothing and belongings of Martine’s were missing: skinny blue jeans, Guess watch, Christian Dior earrings, Marc Jacobs handbag, costume diamond ring and distinctive snakeskin shoes. Also missing, “DP” or Farooq, who had left the country in his father’s private jet.
Farooq’s friend claims the Yemen playboy panicked and had his father fly him out of London back to Yemen, yet this was during the period when Martine was still missing, no one but her killer knew she is was now dead.

The exact cause of Martine’s death is unknown, the authorities are awaiting for results of further tests but she did suffer from “serious neck wounds” and someone took her clothing and belongings. No word yet if she had sexually assaulted.
Meanwhile Farooq is back in his home country of Yemen which has no extradition agreement with the UK which means Scotland Yard has its hands tied, Farooq is beyond any jurisdiction of the British courts.
Farooq’s father said he would “disown” his son if it were proven his son was involved in young Martine’s death but Farooq’s father failed to say he would force his son to return to Britain to answer questions about his involvement in the last hours of Martine’s life nor face any British courts.
Farooq’s failure to contact Scotland Yard and give them a statement denotes a person who is more concerned about their own welfare than helping to solve the murder of a friend. Farooq was one the last persons to have seen Martine alive before she was murdered. Now a friend of his claims Farooq has mentioned the mysterious involvement of a “third” person.
Since Yemen has no extradition agreement with the UK Farooq could actually pick up the phone and talk to Scotland Yard and fill them in about the last time he saw Martine and this “other” person without fear of any sort of prosecution. The only action has been Farooq’s attorney complaining that Scotland Yard hasn’t contacted Farooq.
Perhaps it’s time for party boy, DP, to step up to the plate and do the right thing, pick up the phone and contact Scotland Yard. If Farooq had one ounce of respect for Martine he would be assisting in the investigation of her murder in any way possible. Instead he’s chosen to flee the country and hide behind his father’s skirts.
