Illinois-shaped Cornflake Fetches $1350 on e-Bay

Two sisters, looking for $10 on e-Bay, instead got $1350 for a cornflake shaped like the state of Illinois.
It was not reported the brand of corn flake.
$1,350 was the winning bid late Friday on eBay.
“We already have the money,” a joyous Melissa McIntire, 23, one of the Chesapeake (VA) sisters selling the item, said minutes after the sale ended and the winner made an electronic payment.
“We are so excited,” McIntire said. “There’s a lot of good spirit here. We’re still amazed we sold a corn flake for over $1,000! Who would have thought?”
Melissa’s 15-year-old sister, Emily, found the flake earlier this month. They decided to sell it on eBay.
There were 68 bids from 29 bidders. The highest had appeared to be $1,325, placed Thursday at 3:26 p.m. Then, just six seconds before the close of bidding, TriviaMania.com boosted the price by $25.
The flake will now have a new home as part of the “Traveling Trivia Trove, which is a traveling museum of pop culture,” McIntire said.
So…..what’s the big deal? I found several foods shaped like states.

The sale (of the cornflake) also generated a host of other related sales, including an offer of a picture of Illinois favorite son and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, with twin images of the flake (one reversed) in place of his ears. The top bid was $1.74.
