Global Warming: 12 Feet of Snow Hits Watertown, NY

The news just came out this week that Al Gore has made over $37 million since he left office in 2000.

His net worth in the last 7 years reportedly went from under $2 million to over $100 million–much of it from pimping the dangers of man-made climate change.

Gore’s speaking fees were reported as $175,000 a pop–and up.

This is up near Watertown NY …talk about some snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One area had 146 inches of snow in 2 weeks !!!!!

146 inches of snow!

That’s over 12 feet of snow.

The last pimp for global warming tried to leave Watertown, but was snowed in–last we heard.

Will anyone make a movie about Watertown’s run-in with man-made climate change?

I have a feeling that Algore would get his ass
kicked around here.

Did you know that in cold, northern areas, it has to warm up before it can snow? That’s why the highest snowfall normally occurs further south in Buffalo, Syracuse, and Rochester, the snowiest cities in the U.S. The snowiest years occur in Watertown when it is too warm for the nearby lake to freeze.

Let’s try explaining this in small words so the undereducated can understand. See, there is a difference between weather and climate. Global climate change is threfore not at all like global weather change. Weather is what occurs today, this week or this year. Climate is what persists for decades, centuries and thousands of years So, this year there can and are wet and dry regions, hot and cold seasons. Climate change, on the other hand involve permanent alternations in things like the ice caps, average temperature and rainfall, disappearances in glaciers, melting of Greenland and the release of the greenhouse gas methane trapped there for eons. Once that methane is released, there is no way to unscramble the omelet no matter how much carbon emissions are capped. We can no longer stop the process,, only slow and delay it (perhaps) before sea levels flood all the world’s coastal cities and ultimately make the planet uninhabitably hot. Reactionaries are betting they are dead before this happens, and political leaders hope they won’t be prosecuted for crimes against mankind. So, maybe anti-Kyoto types are correct, if for all the wrong reasons. Eat, drink, and be merry may indeed be the proper policy now that we allowed the planet to go down the drain.

But don’t you think they should at least start building spaceships? On second thought, no, because these neanderthals should be the last people allowed to repopulate elsewhere. They have demonstrated a lack of survival instinct critical for interplanetary natural selection, don’t you agree?

    In response to EconProf,

Maybe you know what you’re talking about, but you don’t have to undermine everyone’s intelligence. You’re not better than everyone else, just so you know. Let’s be mature adults here, please.

And maybe you should some time living through Watertown winters before you make any judgments.

    EconProf,

What with the revelations of the rigged data over the last month, do you feel as embarrassed as those jackasses who commented here for months about John Edwards before he was caught?

    Probably not.

But you’re not the only one who has an education. There are those who are just as–or more–educated than you and disagree with you. The difference is: we don’t look down on you, your background, your education or your viewpoint. And most importantly, we don’t ask you to fund our viewpoint with your dollars.

    We just disagree.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
And thanks to the Watertown area folks for your comments too.

You are sooooooooo wrong on sooooooooo many levels!! The most snow falls on the Tug Hill Plateau area-that’s just NW of the Adirondack mountains. A condition sometimes called the Alberta Express reveals itself as a system steaming over the Lake Ontario picking up moisture-(the more difference in air temp and water temp–the more moisture) and said system becomes burdened and unable to make it over the higher elevations of the Adirondacks–must dump snow in Worth, NY—Barnes Corners, Pulaski, Montague, Lowville–but especially Worth and Diamond. Even 5 miles further south can result in several feet difference in snow fall. As the Eskimos say, “we have 1,000 names for snow”-one of the better former snowmobile bars was called, “Lake Effect”. So, whoever thinks the Buffalo or Rochester snow even comes close to the Tug–hasn’t spent a winter in upstate NY–aka N of Syracuse, W of Rome, S of Massena and E of Rochester. PLEEEEZZE!!
…and don’t share this with anyone because those folks don’t want to share the serenity of the snow with loud ASS##### who can’t drive in it.—
